Ived lived through much the same situation as your going through right now,only i chose to take revenge,i was robbed at gun point for $20 back in the 1970's & back then a $20 spot was big money,after i was robbed i swore if i ever had the chance i would get pay back,as chance would have it over a year later i spotted my attacker in line at an auto parts store,i went behind the store & grabbed a huge peice of lumber from a pile laying in the trash & waited at the door for assholio to come out.

When he came out i went straight to task clubbing his sorry ass,after 3 or 4 minutes or clubbing him unconscience & bleeding profusily from every orifice i got further paybaqck by taqking his wallett,the lil gun he was carrying,then i took off his shoes & threw them into the middle of the road & slpit the scene,leaving him laying there with a crowd of onlookers milling around him,the cops nabbed me & charged me with strong armed robbery & felonious assault with the intent to committ the crime of murder,the later charge carries a 10 yr to life sentence in michigan.

My trial was postponed for over 9 months while johnny tough guy with a gun robber healed in the hospital from shit like a bruised heart,ruptered spleen,smashed cheek bone & where the cornia in one eye was torn off,in court johnny bad ass looked like a jock,was all dressed up,had characture wittnesses,his local preacher & shit loads of family members all in his corner saying what a great human being he was,this guy tried comming off as the town hero until his criminal record was brou8ght up by my attorney.

I ended up taking a plea deal that netted me a 2.5 year sting in prison,i giot revenge but i got fuked in the end plus this guy had family who swore vengance so i spent the next 10 or so yrs after i got parole lookling over my shoulder.

If i had it to do all over again i would surely of walked away.

The grip on your throat is irrelevant in it's strength your hand has what it take to grab the thumb and snap it like a dry twig, he would of let go you would hold the thumb, spin side small kick to the side of the knee (30 pounds pressure) and broken his leg brought the thumb/hand area to your chest and broken the wrist. Two seconds all done. I grew up with multiple black belts and marines so my response would differ I know this but consider this, you went into an environment that had the potential for violence and you were not prepared. Weaponry is not your savior here either mind you. You could of had that taken from you and used against you unless your very very good I could rip the gun right from you and beat you like a drum with it. Unless your not evert going into the environment that could harm you it is time to man up your skills.
WHat you have instead is shock regret and shame. This is not a big deal unless you let it be. BE gentle on your self a positive mental attitude will get you back on track faster, you are alive you can recoup you have no real harm. Take stock recoup and go forward.

Yeah I took on 4 boys wit 2 guns so I got no shame but the chokehold did get me, and I did realize later I should have gone for his fingers n not the arm. Still, panic of the moment can make it difficult sometimes. Easy to talk, harder to perform.
