is it hot as hell there?
Early Girl is a tough grow in high heat. Not always but generally the lower leaves yellowing and droping is a mag problem. Epsom salt and some good 3-5-4 or any organic balanced tomato food usually brings them back. In general tomatoes feed N-P-K pretty much like weed going to flower. Just a weaker concentration of nutes.
I had some early girl this year hit by the drought watered and fed every day and still some lost every leaf. Bare stems with what looks like grape tomatoes is not a pretty sight. Covered with agrabond 15 Mine are coming back but cold is only a few weeks away. So?

Tomatoes are much harder to grow than weed is. Too many things blown in by the wind that you cannot see or smell that will wipe them out. A neighbor, a mile away, who developes a fungus may get you.

Good Luck

i havent fed any nutes. she is in fox farm ocean forest mixed with some organic soil with bone meal(6-9-0) mixed in. i will get some organic tomato ferts and give her some probably once a week or something like that.

How much are you watering? Got good drainage?
Tomatos like the heat, and like water, but don't like to sit in it.
I have mine in full sun in Ga., and have relatives in Ca. that have tomato farms, and they are all full sun.
Sprinklers run 2=3 times a week at most, with 100 degree heat and low humidity in the valley.
Also, next time you go to Lowe's or something, get some 'tomato set'

i normally water some everyday. it probably is overwatered. but with the soils i have if they dry out to much the will not hold water. but luckly last night i found some burlap shade cloth on craigslist for only 5 dollars. so i picked that pu today and put some of it up. hopefully they will grow better. the tomatoes that are pollenated are growing very slowly. they say it takes about 70 days but its been about 2 weeks and they are not bigger. is that normal? could it be since she is growing so much most of her energy is towards that instead of the fruits?

Tomatoes are harder to grow and keep healthy compared to the weed. I'd also say you have a cal mag def, and this will limit the nutrient uptake, and it will show slow growth. I've got a couple of tomatoes on the deck and they have shown and survived a couple of deficiencies. I'm growing my Early Girl in a 2 gal perlite hempy bucket with a soil cap. I put a heavy dose of Osmocote + in the bucket when I built it but it seems to have run out of poop. In the last week I've seen a "P" def and I started hitting it with Cha-Ching bloom booster and it started ripening hard. I've got a cherry tomato in a slightly larger hempy also.
