after doing some reading it looks like i have a fungas gnat infestation in my buckets. Although the only insect i can see on my leaves are whiteflys, is it possible this could be whitefly larvae? According to google, whiteflys lay there eggs on the bottom of leaves, so this indicates that i do probably have a fungas gnat infestation. I sprayed heavily with neem oil and hot pepper wax on the soil surface leaves stems everywhere and threw up a bunch of fly strips.

No its not maggots its whiteflys. Get some good quality yellow sticky strips and hang just above the plants , this will stop th ebreeding cycle in about 1-2 weeks, left unchecked they will destroy your plants.

i couldent find the yellow strips you talk about so i hung six regular sticky fly strips, they are yellowish in color..

Whites flies for sure yellow sticky strips water with gognats solition or with some other kind of neem oil base products now remember that just slows down there growth and stops the big flies from fuckn if you really want to get rid of them or of you have a hardcore infestation u need some predators

I KNEW IT!! the other posters kept saying whiteflys, but like you said the whiteflys lay larvae on undersides of leaves, i went and baught some diatomaceous earth and put it the top of all my six plants. when i was applying the "DE" i actualy noticed the culprit, the fungus gnats.

gnats bro.. i got coco and there sons of bitches n there but i hit em with neem oil and liq ladybug every other nite for about 2 weeks and it helped alot.. and those traps work good too for they ones that fly u can cut em into smaller shapes and jus get a smallpiece of potatoe on each and they will automatically b attractd to the pads and bam there stuck on the strip.. then u jus throw away.. and so on until u see a change but get em now b4 they start eatin up ur leaves.. cuz they do nibble doesnt really mess with anything but i can sure tell u if u dontdoshit about it now and it gets bad.. they can def slow down growth pf ur plants.. and im not for sure but i think tha larva eat roots so yea get on it..lol
