So I’m doing this outdoor with a tidy cats bucket and before I did too much research about soils and not to use clay I threw some gravel in the bottom of bucket to help water but it had red clay and I think all the heavy rain has joined the potting soil and clay into a mush in the bottom
I believe it’s root rot because I got up yesterday was good and then after lunch I look back out and I start seeing all these bad leaves and I mean fast
So I was thinking here’s my idea for a fix hopefully
So dig a hole Maybe 2 to 3ft.²
Line the hole with black liner?(lmk should I or not?)
Fill with 50% to 60% potting soil
15% to 25% composted cow manure
then some perlite for the rest and mix it all
After all is mixed have a hole in center a few inches deeper so I can put new soil Completly around old root and dirt structure
cut container bottom down the side so I don’t touch root system and put in to hole and remove cut plastic trying to shock as little as possible
then should I water to break old dirt to join new dirt or just let dry do it own thing
Any other ideas, please help!!!
