Too big in veg - will run out of space in flower - help

Grew to 34 inches high ( only 7wks) in veg - switched to flower 3 days ago, only 11 in of space left before I invade the 12 inch buffer zone I should maintain to the light (LED).
Can or should I :
  • top these below first branches or second
  • bend top over and tie down
  • thin out fan leaves
  • remove sucker branches
What is best practice and / or safest in this situation ( 3 days into flower)
Note: are strong and healthy plants
9 stuffed into a 4 3/4 by 4 3/4 foot tent ( nominal 4 x4 )

Begin low stress training where needed. I use 8 guage coated wire to manipulate stems. Many ways to attach to guide them... wrapping, hooking, etc. Wires are easy to cut to desired length. Have reused them for many years...

One other use for the wire is when the buds get heavier and weigh down stems I use wire to connect to heavy stem then attach other end of wire on the stalk to ancor then adjust to desired position.

Tie it down side ways, do not top it. Just did that and had to toss 2, 4 footers for Hermie.

Should have been training them before flipping to flower. Like I'm doing now with my 9 day flowering plants I just roll and slightly crush the stems a couple nodes from the top so the tops can sag down. It encourages lower nodes to flower up more and after a few days the top is curling up again. Take your time and make sure a couple inches of stem is soft enough to bend over so it doesn't break but even if it breaks open it will still produce a nice top cola. Once it's softened up a bit twisting also helps to make it supple.

I don't doubt you. This one I'm talking about I've had for over 2 years and it's been hardy and stable.. topped it in flower too much that time perhaps, was a good hair cut. ;-)

yeah, you're right, not the best advice to chop. I guess I was seeing it as a third day in, what would I do thing. but I do hear of hermies happening like you say. I dont want op to get a hermie, I really dont.:hug:

Lollipoping basically once the pre flowers have shown start at the base and remove any nodes and leafs that are not able to get secondary light, basically all the shitty little lose nodes ditch umm, that way all your flower power,haha, is directed towards those choice optimal flowers

its never too late, you can even reveg the flowering plant when finished if careful/ the longer you wait in flower to clone the longer it may take for the girl to recover in veg, but have no fear, she will. 3 days aint shit, no worries.

Yeah i hear you there, They just take a bit longer to get rooted aswell. But they grow nice bushes lol

The grow nice bushes because you've cloned the plant at the stage in its life were its in "the stretch" where it's maxing its growth in preparation for flowering. this practice is also referred to as monstercropping. when done right you'll get clones that veg faster and big her than anything you've seen before

I took clones just 1 week before flower - are these monstercropping candidates?
