Too big?????

I topped them down here yesterday, but I still think they might be too big.... From the soil to the top right now is 3 FT... If they get up to 5 FT tall, they will be touching the light!

They are in veg now and I want to flower them within the next week.... Any suggestions? Should I top down more? If so how much????

If you don't do something they will be into that light easily.
Have you considered LST, Scrog etc...
I personally like the Scrog, but then that style fits for me.

I'll consider anything... Which one is easier/cheaper? Can I get all the supplies and the garden store?

What's easier to set up since I never did it before? I just have those round pots... There's no way to stick poles in them or anything.

if you dont train down when you flower they will be past the light...

LST (tie down method) is pretty easy. How long have you vegged?

they look like they are happy and you've done a good job taking care of them! i, too, want to know how long you had them in veg!?! all good suggestions for you so far. good luck with the grow!

I disagree, they look like they're begging for you to flower them already.
They're turning yellow at the bottom, I'm doubting that is from no light penetration.
They're branches need more wind, flowering on those thin sticks they will snap like thorn bushes.
Probably less yield the more you veg for as well.

They have been verged forever it seems… Like 2-3 months! Also, they are actually a lot greener than they were before… They had nitrogen deficiency, so hopefully that will be fixed..

What should I do everyone? I kind of need more specifics.. I obviously can't go backward in time… What would you do LST them? Should I do that immediately and then wait a couple more days and flower then to make sure there is no stress??

Take a week to address all problems before going forward into flower.

A) Fix the yellowing by getting a stable and non complicated nutrient mix, a simple 20-20-20 of Jacks Classic keeps my babies green from birth to death, this INCLUDES the 1 blade fan leaf 50% of the time.

B) Get more fans in there and make those babies swing, they need more bulkness to their stems, if not, once you start to flower and weight packs on, those stems are going to snap easy.

C) Get some stakes and put 4 in each pot at a distance 1 opposite from each other. Take some tie and tie the biggest colas outward to the edge of the pots, this will allow more light to penetrate and give those little thin branches some sun food.

D) Check if your plants are rootbound, it could be that you don't have enough wind to make the branches thicker, but woody stems is usually because of root issues.

They should be root bound almost… I transplated some out of 7 gallon pots and they were almost completely root bound. How much wind should i put on them? I just put the osculating fans on high and put them right on it now it's like a wind storm in there… Is that too much?

Would you do anything else besides tie the biggest colas out?

Hes trying to say the moment you try to LST like some people are suggesting you're going to destroy most of your colas.
Woody branches aren't bendable like green ones, one wrong snap and that piece of the plant is gone unless you clone it.

If your plants are root bound honestly I have no idea what you can do at this point besides transplant.
I have personally never root bound my plants so I couldn't give you the best advice on this.
The obvious answer would be to transplant the plants, but I'm sure someone with better information on root bound plants can chime in here.
Maybe someone might suggest scoring the root ball, using a stress reliever on the plant, then using a B-52, Voodoo Juice, or Root Excelerator product to get the roots happy and running again in the same pots, kind of like a bonzai tree but with extra care and steps.

As for the wind, just put it on whatever setting makes them sway but not tip over.
A good amount of nice clam winds will do fine, even adding some potassium silicate might increase stem thickness and better cell production.

If they'll hit the light at 5 feet why would you let them get to 3 feet when they can double in the flowering stretch? That's just silly.

Long story... but yea i understand this is not ideal. Newbie central.. I need to figure out what i should do now that they are at this point.



From the looks of these girls, does anyone thinkg think they can be LSTed safely? Should I just drill holes in the tops of the pots and tie them outward from the top being careful not to snap them? Let them go until they are happy facing the light again and then flower?

Does this make sense???

Personally I think I would top them at like 2.5 ft and let them heal then flower.

You can try LST right now, test it on a few and see how it works out, if it works out fine then you solved one of many issues.
