Too dry after a week

Hello.

So i've been drying for 8 days now at 19c, 66f and 60 to 65 humidity according to the controller. Inline fan set to medium setting.

I decided to try to smoke some last night and the taste was a bit rough. It was just like smoking grass, nothing special and the bud, on the touch, are overly dry and crumbly on the outside. Inside of the bud is somewhat fresher. The stems are still not snapping in the dry tent.

It's been wet trimmed, sort of in a hurry, so its not an awesome job there's still sugar leaves on the buds, although trimmed... But maybe thats why it feels dry on the touch and a bit of a rough smoke?

Is there a way to determine how dry it actually is? And what to do if it turns out it actually is too dry? Which i guess it is since its all crumbly.

Will set inline extraction fan to low.

I planned on putting them into grove bags after 10 days. Is this option still viable, lets say if i do it today or tomorrow?

Any idea what will happen to it in the grove bag when its in this dried out state?

I just wonder what my next steps should be. I did learn that you can re-hydrate them with lettuce leafs (by jarring them with lettuce i guess), so wonder what my next course of action should be. Or should I just leave it hanging in the tent still, and up my humidifier control to 65% or something.

It's my first hydro harvest that went well. I got 300 grams trimmed, but not dried bud, so would really hate it if it just tastes and smells like hay.

You can always open/burp the jars/bags.
Don’t put lettuce leaves or orange peels in with your weed.
Give it time. Many times the hay smell is temporary.

So I should just put in the grove bag, but not heat seal them?

I don't have jars, but i can go out and get some. I do have two grove bags I intended to use for curing.

If the inside still feels fine and hydrated, throwing them in grove bags now will help. will hydrate the drier parts of the bud and even out the moisture content.

I've had weed that was mega dry on the outside turn out fine once bagged and cured.

I’ve wet trimmed my last 2 harvests and was able to get my conditions to 60f/60% rh. I had good airflow in the room but nothing blowing directly on the buds.
I was surprised that in 6-7 days they were ready to jar. The last run has been in jars for almost a month and the taste and smell is great. My hygrometer read 61-62% after one day but climbed to 63/64 after a couple more days. Two weeks of slow burping got them all to a steady 60%.
My grow was all organic and I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it…..but no hay smell at any point. I guess my point is it doesn’t take quite as long to get buds down to 62-63% as one might think…..that is when you’ve wet trimmed.

I checked jars, the humidity is 54% after 24 hours of them being jarred.
In grove bags, the humidity is at 50% after 24 hours.

I'm getting my boveda packs delivered today. Should I stick them in jars?
Should I stick them in grove bags too?

I would give them another day or two and you might see the rh rise a little.
What really sucks is the accuracy of the hygrometers is all over the map.
At first i bought a pack of 12….cheap ones off Amazon. They are a joke. I could put 5 of them in the same jar of buds and they will all display a different number with a 12-15 degree difference between the highest and lowest.
i then ordered a couple different ones that were a little more expensive and they are much better…..I have one That I think is deadly accurate and 2 more than run about 2 degrees off.
So your 54% could actually be higher….or lower.
