Too early to top my plant?

just started this about 2 1/2 weeks ago. the strain is Caramel Kush. i just picked the top off of it so it will grow in 2 main stems. ive seen it done before, the plant had one stem and it split in 2 and the plant had 2 main buds. did i top this plant too early or should everything work fine?

You generally only top 2-3 weeks before you plant on fruiting...unless you plan to continuously retop like some screen of green users do.

Early for topping. Perfect for a FIM job though.
