too frickin' dry in my grow/drying room

i just chopped my 2 dutch passion master kush plants on new years day. i removed all the colas, gave them a quick though not final trim and hung them. the problem i am concerned with is the air is really dry (under 30% rh)due to the frigid weather. the shaggier colas are not drying as fast but some of the smaller buds and some that were given a crew cut are getting kind of dry on the outside. i have put the ones i feel are drying too quickly into brown paper bags. good idea or bad idea? any suggestions aside from a humidifier or wrapping my head in a warm towel and taking a hot shower?

thx buster. it is rare that i need humidity in my basement so i was looking for a temporary workaround. i know $30 is a piss hole in the snow compared to the work i have put into my grow...

I have the same problems..It is cold and dry as fuck. Get the buds that start to feel too dry in glass jars immediately. Paper bags are a great way to even out the drying and often speeds it up a little which it sounds like you don't need. Take what you got out of paper and get it in glass canning jars or something similar. Once your weed is too dry you can't get it back so don't sleep on this!

i put some of them into a mason jar and put my hygrometer in it and when sealed, the rh spikes up into the mid 70's so i am but nervous about mold. argh!

Mr I Can Do That For Half
dry and cure around 60 percent. Simple humidifier well worth it better yet get a combo humidifier /dehumidifier

Get some Boveda 62's.
they helped me and I used a dehumidifier at 60% RH in the room I hung it in.
mine got a little to dry, two weeks with packs in jars and the overall weight went from 6 -7 ounces!
gained an ounce!

i have done the 'perfect cure every time' thing and it works like a champ. my concern is the speed the buds are drying at on the outside since it is so dry. i am trying to slow the descent into dust. i think i'm going to have to keep an eye on these pretty closely but on the bright side, i am going to have to keep an eye on these pretty closely...

Take a bucket of water, hang a small towel where it is ha.ging half in water. As the towel wi ks up the water, it will evaporate and raise Rh. some.

we have a switch where we can divert the dryer vent into the house. it will raise the humidity up pretty well but then it just drops back down. thanks for the help though everyone. it is too wet to be in jars. i put some in with my hygrometer about an hour ago and the rh was 79%. yikes! the outside of the buds feel dryish though. i think i'm going to have to go back and forth between jars and paper bags to slowly bring the moisture content in.

if it is too dry just jar it sooner. you dont need any new electronics. dont be that grower that keeps buying more and more crap for their grow op. personally i think the whole notion of pot drying TOO fast is a freaking joke. I have harvested over 1,000 pounds in dry ass colorado never seen a difference in any of the quality based on rh being "too low" in the drying process.

the "colorado cure" is pretty standard. 2-3 days air dry then right into a tub, usually crackling by day 10-14. it is HELLA dry here, which is a gift for indoor growers, dont be that guy thinking its a problem. reeeses peaces

i already have a small hygrometer so it isn't a big deal to check the rh on my buds. if i ever get to a point where i am comfortable in my skills, i probably will look back on these days and think i was over thinking it quite a bit but for now, i want to make sure i make as few mistakes as possible. i appreciate knowing that just drying works out well too, igo. i like to tinker anyway so this is an excuse.

i am out of town but i called my son to have him see how the drying was coming. now the humidity is fuckin' 75% in the house. i removed all the long stems so i can't hang the fuckers properly. the temps are supposed to drop from near 50 to sub 0 again so the air is going to dry out big time again. the cannabis gods are against me...

Growing in dry climate is a perk. I live in high desert and my rh stays 25%-39%. If you can keep it below 35% in flower and when I harvest it only takes a few days rather than two weeks to dry them down to about 15% moister. And no they do not seem 'hollow' or whatever someone said. If you got good buds with density they will be just fine. You 'dry' them at 60-70% rh and you will end up with a bunch of moldy buds.

I use shoe boxes with a 4 inch square hole cut in the top. I open it a few times a day to make sure the air circulates. I used to hang my plants but they would always dry too fast. Now with the shoebox method I get my buds ready for jar cure in about 5-6 days. It has been working good for me. Hope this helps. Good Luck Dude!

the paper bags (large grocery size) seemed to help them soft land in the slow dry zone. i have them jarred up. without a cap they are around 57. cap 'em up and a couple hours later they are 63. so i shampoo, rinse, repeat so to speak. smoked a small bud that i didn't even break apart. i just rolled it into a rolling paper. it burns nicely and has a nice light flavor. the buzz is very heavy for me but i am a lifelong lightweight smoker. lucky me!
