my closet is 4 foot by 2 foot and 8 ft high. i just got my lamps and have a 400 watt convertable system. my mh is about 2 feet above the tops of the plants and a squirrel cage (180 cfm) blower for the exhaust. but my thermometer is reading 90f-95f and i have some pretty huge leaks. any advice?

i have exactly same size closet,,I have air in good for 45 square feet,,a 8 inch inside blowin air around and at top of plants,,and a fan out good for 45 square feet,,and my temps still hit 90 + on hot days,,otherwise,,seal up the leaks,,and get better fans

Get some fresh air in there. It will probably help more than a stronger fan would. I have a pretty small room but I'm using CFL's and my temps get to 90max on hot days.
With a closet grow if all the box is getting is closet air your recirculating used/hot air.

suck air from outside. i did this with my set up and the temps dropped like 5 degrees. if your not doing that already..i mean outside as in outside of the house

i opened my closet about one foot and taped mylar around the opening leaving about 6 1/2 inches from the bottom and about a 8 1/2 inch gap at the top. i bought 8 foot of ducting, hooked it up to blower at the top of closet and ran the ducting underneath the light and the socket mounting and have a fan blowing fresh air in the bottom gap. now my temps have been 77-85. but should i be worried about light leaking or does it matter? my plants are grownig like crazy!

i took off my door knob and attached a dryer duct hose to the inside of the door with a 4" vent fan from home depot at the end. it works good.

Make a cool tube for the bulb...requires some handy work but keeps heat somewhat isolated as you exhaust tube...and intake fans will help in replacing fresh air...then the rest of your fans will circulate fresher air if you have them.
