Okay I am purchasing a carbon filter ,ducting and a 6 inch inline fan, my knowledge was to attach carbon filter in tent and ducting to inline fan placed in window so that air from tent is sucked through carbon then blown outside pointing down at my patio? So the smell just goes around out of house ? Is their a diff between inline and outtake fan? Would I need a duct pushing fresh air in as well as pushing out ?
thanks
The idea with a carbon filter is there is no smell! I'd not vent out of your window in any case as it might attract unwanted attention. Think your own situation through though. What is wrong with venting out of the tent and back into the room? Just open the window if it feels stuffy.

To answer your other question....

As long as there is an opening of some sort in the tent to allow fresh air to be pulled in (this is called 'passive intake') then you'll be fine. Remember any opening in the tent has the possibility to let light inside during dark periods. Making sure the opening of the tent faces a dark/dim part of the room would be a good start.

Okay so if I keep all tent closed an secure and ducting to fan placed out of room sucking the air out of tent into room,in flowering when it's 12 lights on I can keep my window open for fresh air but shut all windows and opening making it completely air tight for 12 hours wouldn't that be bad for plants no air but just pulling air out ?
thank you agian

remember your inline fan sucking the air out should switch off along with your lights durings dark periods.

Airtight is not important but a glaring hole letting light into your tent during dark periods is very important. you could run a short piece of 6 inch ducting out of your intake hole and curl it around a bit so no light sneaks in. Maybe a towel covering it as it comes out of the tent to be sure.

Okay well my grow tent seals up pretty good for light wise maybe il duct tape any small holes or whatever making that no light enters during flowering , waiting toget fan and ducting set up and will post pics!
