Too many CFL's?

Quick question. Got a stealth box, 24" H x 9" D x 16" W
Like most boxes, it has a power bar for CFL's lights at the top, fitting 4 at the most.

So, knowing more light is always better, I had an idea:

What if I plug another pbar at the top and only go with 3 top lights. THEN, I put 2 on the side (left side of box) while plugging in ANOTHER pbar. THEN, on the right side I will use another 3 lights.

THUS, in the small box I will have 3 top lights, 2 left side, 3 on right. Each at 23-26 watt = 184 approx wattage of lights.

In this small box I will only be growing 1-2 plants.

Sound like a good setup or overkill?? Tried it out and heat didn't seem to get above 80 degrees so that was good.

Of course where I live we are not in the hot part of summer yet..... It's in a crawlspace though and always stays pretty cool down there.

ADVICE? INPUT? THANKS!!!!

Cd- Thanks, that is what I am thinking. Of course that many lights with the power bars really uses up some space so I will need to be VERY careful about checking the plant and giving it space. Good thing about power bars though is you can always move em' or at worst option, unplug a light here or there.....

K ill hit this thread of yours up also. This answered my question on your other thread of if your running cfls or florors. First just make sure your not plugging in all your power strips into the same extension cord(if your using one that is) and on the same note dont run 1 power strip off of another power stip. But you have a 4' tall space and your box, if im correct, is only 24"?...why not utilize all 4 feet? Hell get a 400 or 600 watt mh/hps and scrog your ladies..higher yeild...and can still keep it short. Remember..what ever pots you use will take up vertical space and lights also taking up vertical space. Im just thinking in terms of yield...cause im always thinking about croping as much as possible.

Lamb: Growing in a small box in this crawlspace.

To answer your Q'S. I have a 4 ft crawlspace and the thing is under my ENTIRE house, since I elevated the house.

I would somehow need to figure out a way to block out a chuck of it for growing.

I would then need to hang all the lights and keep everything under a VERY short area.

I see what you are saying here, but it is a VERY short area to work in, and then we haven't discussed the issues of an enclosed area, and even more importantly, odor control!!!! WE need to be stealthy since we are in the US, in the midwest!

Thus, why i chose the small grow box to put IN that crawlspace. I would LOVE to think big, but I want to think reality at the same time!

I'm no expert, but I have a very similar space to yours and I think you will have bleaching problems with so many bulbs. I was able to run 136w without an issue but upping it to 162w took the colour out of the leaves almost overnight.
I now have 9,500 lumens in 0.99sq ft and it seems perfect. For your slightly smaller space I'd guess a similar figure.
Usually 1 watt of cfl light equals 66 lumens, so If you want 9,500 lumens then you will need 143w of cfl (9500/66=143).
I'd be aiming for 140w max for your space as it's just a little less than mine.
FWIW I use a 100w HID that gives out exactly 9,500 lumens from a single bulb and doing that would free up a lot of space in your cab compared to cfl.
