Too much heat?

Hey everyone!

I am going to be getting a hydrohut delux and I will have about 6-8 plants. I need to know if two 1000w lights will be too hot even with the cooltube reflector. I have heard that you need an air conditioner for that much light in this amount of space. Here is the hydrohut delux details 52" deep x 104" wide x 7' tall.

You can find them cheaper then that place but anyways. My buddy uses 4 of these hydro huts,He does 32 plants per hut using T5 setups 4 4 tube setups per hut.The 2 1000 watt lights is gonna be over kill for only 6 plants 1 is more then enough youd be better with 1 600 watt switchable digital.They have them at Maryland Hydroponics for $119 each. These tents the ventilation is the biggest concern you have to have a good 6-8 inch inline intake and exhaust fan to vent these or they get real hot. They also need those fans as they are designed to grow with negative pressue meaning the sides will suck inward slightly when properly setup.Alot of people use a portable ac in these if running a bigger light but in these T5s are great and make huge large yeilds of tight rock nuggets in soil. They are great for 1 4x 8 table also you can load it up and grow fast.either T5s or 3 400 watters or 2 600 watters would be better then 2 1000 watters but for so few plants theres no need for 2 1000 watters thats just an issue your making for no reason.Good luck

I have seen these cheeper as well. I think I will do the two 600watt inline cooltube. One reflector, two bulbs. comes 48" or 60" long.

I have one more question. How many fans do I need and what cfm? Your right about only doing 6 plants. I think I may be waisting space. Maybe 10?

I would say a good 250 cfm or more.

hell fill it up.My buddy uses 3 gallon pots and gets 32 in there.He uses clones and vegs them to about 10 inches then goes 12/12 to about 3-4 feet gives you amble room...fans figure 4x8x7 so 224 so get 250 cfm fans at least 2 then slap an adjustable oscalting fan in there to move air around and if your going pro add a co2 tank Good luck and posst some pics

Wow 32! that's awesome. Does he use soil in those pots or what? I will be using clones too. So doing that many plants, you wouldn't want to top them would you?

I like your buddies idea better. I was thinking of veging 10 plants for much longer but why? If I can get 32 plants in there comfortably without maxing out each plant for yeild, sounds like a good way to go. thanks!

Hes using soil right now in them in 3 gallin pots He lollipops them (meaning cuts away the bottom 1/3 of growth) a week before going into 12/12 then you get the top bigger buds and save all that room and then the plants concintrate on feeding nice solid big buds since all the lower branches arent just sucking food and water away becasue they dontr get that much light anyways and neverfully develop right.
