TOO MUCH LIGHT can stress plant?

so i was reading that too little light and the plant will stretch, but too much and it will stress the plant.

if there is too much light, the plant tries to grow away from light?

this has me thinking because my seedlings are 3 inches from light which is directly above.

if the plant was reaching for the light it should be pointed straight up, no? or could that explain why my seedlings are slightly tilted away from the bulbs?

someone shed some light because after reading this im wondering if i should move back my cfls..

you can have your lights to close and your plants will grow toward the brights part of the grow area.yes back them up to about 6to 8 inches.

that makes sense, i didn't think about where the light gets concentrated at... who said stoners had no brain?

yeah just keep the actual light a little away like yeah 8-10 inches or so till they become a little bigger.

i see many people say 2-3 inches, i think that is way too close for 1 wk old seedlings which could explain why my little seedlings are pointed away from the bulbs. they only have 2 true leaves which are about 1/2 inch long.

i will try moving the lights up an inch or two. to about 5-6 inches

Yeah you need some more canopy to absorb all the light. Another thing the light can only be that close if you can keep everything cool.
