Too much light?????????

There is such a thing as too much light, if you're paying for it. The plants can only make use of so much light, so when you go beyond that point, you're throwing money away -- if you're using electricity to grow. It's actaully a double-whammy if you have to use electricity to cool things too, because you're spending money to get rid of heat that you unnecessarily spent money to create.

great point. whats your opinion of too much

I think around 5,000 lumens per square foot is the goal. Any more and you start wasting energy. Obviously, strain, dimensions of the area, reflector, bulb, temp, CO2-enrichment, all those things have an effect on the outcome. But a good rule of thumb is 5000-ish lumens per square foot. If you go up to 6000 or 7000, I wouldn't worry about that. But 10,000 lumens per square foot and you're *definitely* wasting money.

I just put 8 more 4' t-12 at 40w and 6500k im goin to start growing 4 more plants when this one is done i want to have 2 rooms going one for veg and the other for flower do you think i can veg under 8 4 foot t-12 40w-6500k and 3 t-8 at 23w-5500k. and can i flower under one 250 hps and 3 cfl's 2 at 50w and the other at 75w???

is building a room inside of a room necessary? why couldnt i just cover the windows and throw a light up with some fans?

well light can get lost in too big of a room with a room built to spec. you have 4 walls lined with something that reflects light back so no light gets lost, not to say you cant do it but to get all you can out of your light and plants build a room your plants will love you
