Took to many pills help me out

Hey guys,

im prescribed concerta, i take 54 mg pills

i took 2 yesterday at 4-6ish. Well say 6pm for worst case scenario. They say its 8 hours to get out of your system.

At 6 am next morning i took 2 more and headed off. Then smoked a cigarette and now i feel like shit.

Do you guys think i might od?

Since tehn ive thrown up, am pale, feel like my heart is beating faster so i counted my pulse. 14 over 10 seconds so thats about 84 bpm.


Am i alright or should i seek help.

btw i got no sleep in between. Im wondering if that might be linked to the symptoms.

Im not a normal bogey smoker either.

What the hell is concerta? I would go to the hospital or see your doc..what is the medicine for?

Hey man-- Concerta has a lot of dangerous side effects, as Im sure you're aware of.

here is an extract:



Contact your doctor if you experience these side effects and they are severe or bothersome. Your pharmacist may be able to advise you on managing side effects.
  • agitation, nervousness, or anxiety
  • diarrhea
  • dizziness or drowsiness
  • dry mouth
  • headache
  • heartburn
  • joint pain
  • loss of appetite
  • nausea or vomiting
  • skin rash or itching (mild)
  • stomach pain
  • trouble sleeping
Although most of the side effects listed below don't happen very often, they could lead to serious problems if you do not seek medical attention.


Check with your doctor as soon as possible any of the following side effects occur:
  • chest pain
  • confusion
  • fever
  • hallucinations (hearing, seeing, or feeling things that are not actually there) or abnormal thoughts or behaviour
  • increased blood pressure
  • muscle twitching or tics
  • palpitations (feeling your heart beat quickly or irregularly)
  • pinpoint-sized red spots on skin or unusual bruising
  • prickling or tingling sensations in the hands, arms, feet, or legs
  • sore throat and fever

Stop taking the medication and seek immediate medical attention if any of the following occur:

  • signs of a serious allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; hives; swelling of the face, lips, eyes, mouth, or throat)
  • thoughts of suicide or hurting yourself
In other words, it could be a side effect b/cuz you took too much, or it could be something worse


To be safe-- Go see your doctor, to just a walk in clinic and tell them what happened. if anything, just call in and speak to someone who knows about the medication, and ask them if you should come in-- you know?

point is it's your health on the line-- don't take it for granted, call a doctor-- play it safe.

I wouldnt stress about it to much...im a big fan of adderall and will take 3-5 30mg tabs a day when I go out to play, or parachute 2 xr. I hope you didnt take them and plan on going to sleep...they are a form of treatment for narcolepsie (sp?). I have had the same thing happen to me when i took to many vic's, had a cig and started spewing. Get some liquids in you. Burn one and relax to settle you tummy.

If it gets worse it means your gonna die.......no really seek medical attention

Concerta is basically ritalin used to treat add/adhd. Its a time released pill so its distributed over 12 hours.

Yeah man. First thoughts where to sleep it off then i decided not to fuck with it since i didn't know what i was taking really. So i hopped on here and stuff and read some stuff where people thought they were going to od. Some people said the LD is anywhere from 98 mg/kg to 1000 mg/kg

Supposedly the lowest recorded od was 378 mg in one dose. So thatd be 7 54 mg pills for someone with similar body wait.

Ohh its an amphetamine like adderall?? They make me sick like that too...just dont take anymore,,i hate them...Get sum gatorade or powerade to replace the carbs and electrolites you lost during vomit. You should be ok but if it gets wors like stuski said..Seek medical attention!

Anyway as of right now it came down alittle bit i think the bogey wore off. It lasted forever pretty crazy shit.

Anyway i dont wanna jump the gun here as i feel like im coming down from it. I think that was just a peak cause in the beginning i thought the release times where over 8 hours so i had some overlapping tim ein there.

Anyway to be safe i have my phone next to me if it comes back, or i get anymore symptoms ill make the call or atleast to a doctor. I dont believe theres a very high risk of immediate death or something the would immobilize me and ristrict me from hitting send at the least.

Thanks for all you concern and help. I think i may have just over reacted here.

just chillax, they are time release so there is the chance for another peak. Go do something that does not require alot of energy to take your mind off of it. When i first started taking candy, I would get sick and stress out and it only made it worse. I'm on a diet right now so i dont enjoy candy as much as i used to but thoes were good and fun days.

They make me feel like shit and cant sleep for a day or 2,,,itll take damn near a week for my body to shake back from that..Like a MEGA dose of caffeine to me..If i were to get HIGH like that id get sum glass or X,E

Yeah i get teh caffiene like buzz/shake where your bodys like always tingling and shaking sometimes.

I think im gunna be alright but im just gunna sit here by the computer and phone and relax. play some xbox to pass the time. Not feeling bad at all right now.

were you on methadone to get off vicodin or heroin?

soboxons are known to induse bad cases of nausea, and vomiting if the person has ingested any kind of opoid 24-48 hrs before...a word of the wise, figure out what you are getting yourself into before.

shit man,i hope you be alright,they had me on some shit cuz i lost it when my brother died,lexapro 20mg,that shit used to have me shaking and sweating,i was still angry and depressed tho,but just sweaty and shaky.....but i hope you do alright my dude
