And they are

1. They've told somebody about their grow
2. Somebody has discovered their grow
3. Suspicious activity on your end = citizen report to local LEO
4. smells
5. or u get caught selling, or somebody that grabs off you gets caught and rats you out

all the above + light leaks , visiting the same property at the same times everyday , disposing harvested plants into normal waste pick up , to much of a heat signature , and as 1 guy did, propping the front door open while you work with a MJ plant lol............

This thread reminded me I have a groery bag full of old, harvested stalks and root systems from 4 plants I need to dispose of. I hate having to go halfway across the city to dump some trash in order to feel safe.

i have to add sound? from vans/ballast unless yours is digital..and other equipment.

my top would have to be from:

1. telling/showing people,also growing with others. motherfuckers will try to rob you. set you up.

(even your fuck buddy,girlfriend(psychos),wife(if you cheat,or see a divorce in your future),BABY MAMA will take the kids and use against you,your kids(will try to show it off or brag) etc etc etc etc etc

ps. i dont have any kids or baby mamas,no wife,, just gf's and ex gf's..

2. odors/sounds/heat (neighbors or visitors with put the puzzle together) in my area we have choppers in the air EVERYDAY some nights i got out and theres 5 choppers floating around. of course they dont all obey their own laws =p

3. get rated out ......by people who get busted doing dumb shit and prolly picked up from you from their friends but kept your number.
(dumbasses prolly get busted from being pulled over n searched,checkpoints,DUI etc too many possible ways with everything.

4. other growers or dealers(even if you arnt a dealer) in the area,specially if you are doing better then them in life in general.motherfuckers will try to rob you. (jelousy,greedy,envy)

5. living with people who have criminal records. family or not.

This is a good post with some good information. People should follow this at all time to avoid problems. Anyway the number one rule in this world = keep your mouth shut.

I'm not sure how you are supposed to get around not telling your girlfriend or wife. I mean, you are living with them, kinda hard to hide that, don't you think? Beyond that....

I HAVE been busted...let me tell you, its not fun...

#1 reason (IMO): DRAMA

that means ANYONE who knows about your grow, can and will, use it against you.

Heres a Scenario for you....

You live in a house in the middle of nowhere, and you rent the basement from your gf's best friends mother(who so happens to be a huge pothead/alcoholic). after living there you realize that you could be growing allota pot in that basement, and the owner of the house says that i can pay her my rent in buds that i produce...ok sounds great right...well wrong...already to many people know about it...

ONE DAY, im out and about in town(not at the house) and, Her oldest daughter called the police and told them everyhting because she was in an argument with her mother......now think about that for a second......she called the police and busted her own mothers grow operation IN HER OWN BASEMENT....why? because people are unpredictable, and people are JEALOUS, and want what you have. This bitch had the BALLS to go down in the basement, and gather my bongs, my steamroller, and many ounces of jarred, curing buds(sharksbreath i believe), and then bring them to another location, then call the police from the house...all in about an hours time.

Its a damn good thing that i got a tip from my business partner(who so happened to be watching my property) that cops were in my basement, that allowed me to go into hiding untill i could negotiate the terms of my arrest/charges through my lawyer and the state troopers..in the end i had to man up and turn myself in. They ended up pulling over 50 plants out of the house, and confiscating the most expensive equipment.

MORAL OF THE STORY:

dont tell a single sole, if you do, all it takes is ONE BITCH ON HER FUCKEN PERIOD TO SEND YOU TO JAIL.

yeah one time i chose to tell a friend that i grow, and i had one purpose in mind, i always smoked with him and thought maybe he can grow some with my help so i don't have to get some myself for him to smoke with me cuz i don't sell ever. all i got from him was jealousy, and instantly i felt sorry for telling him. he doesn't even consider taking the risk of growing but wants to smoke! all he cared for was if i could sell him some, even grow one plant just for him in my growroom! here's a guy who's 6 years older than me, no wife or kids, a place for himself, and no previous police records and he's too scared to grow in a closet. he kept nagging on me to sell him some and give him some, i told him to let me set him up for a small grow instead but he sees it as impossible! really some people are soooo limited, they don't get it, it's a fucking weed you can grow it for cheap. this guy spends at least 400$ per month on weed! he smokes much more than i do and he's not in a good financial situation at all! well eventually i finished my grow and harvested, then i purposely showed him my setup after i had turned it off with no plants, (it's my last grow in that same location anyway) and told him that i don't grow anymore, showed him like 1oz of buds and told him that was what i harvested, he believed actually he was very impressed to see it when really i had like 15oz's in jars hahahaha i told him that i was a crazy guy to grow in the first place lol gave him a small bud to shut him up and sent him away, i have been seeing him very rarely ever since so basically i lost a friend.

worst people are the smokers who don't grow! they are jealous and too stupid to grow! they envy you! they don't want you to succeed because you will be surpassing them! screw them!!!

we all get caught one time. its either a dodgy neighbour or an ex girlfriend..... the helicopter just confirms it for em. some daft fukkkers even grow it in the attic ???? silly twats its an open invitation to a passing chopper .... i know a guy whos grew for years and years in a swimming pool covered with a trench covering his exhaust about 5 foot deep and 15 metres long. you can just about smell it he also plants wild garlic to put off passers by, its a posh kinda place with little footfall. and i bet he never gets caught m(ever) THE RICH NEVER DO I SPOSE

Look out for smoking up your friends or whoever with your variety of nugs. A person just thought I did when I acquired a new hook up but wasn't even growing I wanted too kill whoever created that thought without knowing shit. Have an idea.......

iff its a home grow?? i wunt worry about it. in the uk all the guys i know who get busted were happy to get a cup of tea in the nick.( police respect us, they know we not providing funds for terror groups were just doing our hobby to keep sane... ) iff growing for money ?? ( never take ur mobile fone to a grow, police can and do use transcripts from tele buisness's in court. it can put you in the frame.( even with the battry out ) outdoor grow ??????? ( set traps ) harmless ones ofcourse, and alway jog to the place or just look like ur rambling..always set traps tho........about waist hight so you dont get a fox walikn past and wqill make you parranoid for no reason,

If you keep your $hit straight, only tell someone you respect as much as he respects you.. no need to bring it up in conversations .. nothing wrong with a nice little grow.
Be self aware of the ppl around you, if the girlfriend's the jealous type, she could be a possible squealer.
