About to transplant into 3gal and was wondering, should I top before the transplant or wait till after?

Not working overtime this weekend so I guess I'll transplant them and give them time before I top. Also gives the smaller ones time to catch up.

I would top at the same time. It takes the same amount of time to get over stress weather its because of two things you did or one. Also when you top the plant the root ball makes a split and push outward just like the top. So if you transplant at the same time you top the roots will have the room to grow outward the same time and scale as the top. Its best to do all this on the full moon. This is my opinion.

Thanks for the reply, my thought process was if I start a Mainline/manifold now on the faster growing 2 and transfer the smaller ones it would give them a head start in the root department then top those and hopefully the 2 mainlined ones after transplant would be about the same size. Am I wrong in this?
