Top before switching to flower?

I want to top my plants off a little bit because I'm worried they're stretching and getting too tall if I do that tonight how many days should I wait before flipping to flower?
Or does it matter? Worried about shock

Ya. I should've clarified to the OP that topping is more about creating more bud sites, where supercropping is just to lower the tops. It is pretty late.

I agree, if I'm gonna top I do it early and then LST. Even 2 weeks isn't really enough time after topping. Personally I would supercrop or LST it if I was gonna flip soon.

You can tie the heads own to a string/wire tie around the pot. The heads won’t take long to bend upwards again, this gives you a bit of extra time and should work just fine. But a picture paints a thousand words.
how long have they been in 12/12?
