Top bud leaves browning and dying.

Prelude - I failed to scale up nutes quickly enough so I was at an impasse of not being able to give them enough nutes or burning them. The cold weather set back watering and feeding greatly, which has worsened the situation.

I finally gave her a full dose "likely her last" of flower nutes last night (7 days since last feeding), 2/3 dose or less before this point.

This morning I looked in on them and notice this on the Emerald Jack. Brown dying leaves on the top "not really dry except the tips", it's the only place on this or any of the plants. Naturally first thought, was bud rot and scoured the plant and can find nothing, however, it is a very dense bud. I'm just paranoid enough to have kicked my fans too the high setting, just in case.

Any ideas?

She needs nitrogen, but she's already had 3 doses in her flower cycle and it's setting her back as she is supposed to be done in the next few days. Likely root bound from under feeding and I figured she is close enough. ;)

Second time I've done this, I do great right up to very end then it all goes to hell.

Not sure maybe take the top cola see if its mold/rotten inside, if not then let the bottom 2/3 of the plant fatten up and go another 2 weeks and feed again. Check the ph as its been in the medium a while now.

dude youre so close to harvest, i would lay off of the nutes and start flushing.
I struggled with making the call to give her this last dose, but I figured I had 2 weeks so may be her last. I tend not to flush myself unless I od on nutes, but I do lay off the nutes the last 10 days.

I should cut into her to be certain, even if I dread doing so, it's such a pretty top. :D Guess it could be a ph issue, as when I nute my water that strong it ends up in the low 5's and it takes way to much ph up to correct so I don't use the ph up. It may have been to much for the lime to handle. I'll check those two later when the lights come on.

thanks for the assist.

It looks like a cal/mag issue, but at this stage of the game, I'd let her go. Is it a Sat or Sat dom? I'm just curious, 'cuz many of my Sats do that in mid to late flower. I think Sats devour Mg at that stage, and am collecting evidence to test that theory.

Open up the bud where the brown leaves are and take a look. I'm guessing it will be brown in there too. Bud rot.

It's an Emerald Jack

Edit: now that you mention it, something very similar happened to my last batch of White Widow, however, those seemed much dryer.

LOL I just remembered it's been raining the last couple of days as well, so rot is making more sense.

Think I'll look now instead of waiting.

Yeah, it could be rot. It does make sense. Let me know if it is, will ya? Like I said, I'm collecting anecdotal statistics of Sats and Mg deficiencies, and at what stage they occur.

After.

I went about an inch under the rot, think that's enough?

OK, Sorry for ya!!! I had it once, it happened in the drying cab. I had watered the plants, then got stoned and decided to harvest a few hours later when they were really turgid!! I always stop watering about 4 or 5 days before harvest now.

I'll have to remember that, ya it's a bummer, I'll have to add in my big fan I think after I clean the room.

Thanks for the assistance, everyone.
