if i could get 3 - 5 lbs it would be enough easily to make all the edibles , concentrates and bud i would need for months for sure . I wonder if i could grow that for 1500-2000 or less if i find good prices on seeds with good genetics and materials + hydro .

Ok will try to help with some.
Yes quality seeds are needed...but that's pretty easy. Online or in shops near you in TO. Tons to choose from.
Maybe 10 plants may be a lot in a 3 x 3. Many will chime in here. Small ones yes...big ones...no.
But you can get bigger tents as well...all sizes are available really..small to huge.
Growing from seed is slow......getting cuttings from those buddies that grow...much faster and you will supplied more often.
They sell nutrient kits. Many to choose from but the shop guy should advise you. Not too expensive if you growing small scale. You only feed them Nutes every other watering. Straight water in between in the simplest dirt set-up.
Good bud the first time can be tough but not impossible. Failure can occur yes. But hey you gotta start somewhere. Lots of site with grow info and folks who will help as well at times.

You don't see that quality the cups is because people enter the best in the cups they're not gonna answer low grade. And they grow it themselves. It's all about how a person cares for his garden

I am all for voting in favor and fighting for that right . If they really want to lock me up for something as stupid as growing cannabis for myself ... go ahead . I think that's fucking ridiculous , especially if you are trying to "legalize" cannabis . It isn't truly legal without the option to grow .

I am not boosting the LP's because i have got containers of cannabis that made me furious when i opened it but not all of it is "shwag hemp" as some of you go on . I know it's because you hate them but ... we should be honest in life too .... not every single time but i have had plenty times where i got some good medicine . I agree that the consistency isn't there though and that's what has lead me to agree growing will be the optimal solution .

If you get a tent make sure you get a good one - not a secret Jardin. I have a Gorilla and it's structure is fantastic (and that's about the most important part IMO) but the tent itself the stitching is only so-so. Heard some decent things about hydrofarm I think the name is. Anyway the Gorilla tent (I have a 10x10) serves me well regardless. The stitching might eventually become an issue though. It's ok as I'm going to be closing this room up here this year.

When figuring cost you should add your man hours in there too at a reasonable rate.
