topped wrong spot?

"do i top the bottom ones?"

I didn't top any others on her after I chopped after the 3rd set of leaves.

"how long do i have to wait, 3 nodes again?"

How long do you have to wait for what? The set of round leaves don't count as a set of leaves.

Are those the questions you wanted answered?

UB calls them nodes, I call them sets of leaves. I like to wait till there is 5 sets of healthy leaves, then I chop right above the 3rd set.
okay so i waited til 4 and did it at 3 like you said, the 2 little leaves, then 3 sets, then top. so i barley have any growth on the top shoots at the moment.
so ill have to top the bottom two? below the top.
my question is, how long do i wait to top them? when can i top them?
thanks

You can top the side branches at any time, just keep in mind that it takes close to a week for the newly topped branch or branches to start growing again. It's a good idea to let the plant recover for that week before topping again. When the plant small it starts with the initial topping, right above the 2nd (4 main branches) or 3rd node (6 branches).

I usually top immediately above the 2nd node and then try and keep the grow/height of the individual branches as equal as possible. As soon as the two branches get their first set of leaves, top each of those. That gives us four branches/tops. As soon as the four branches get their first set of leaves, top each of those. That gives you eight branches/tops. As soon as those eight branches get a healthy set of leaves, top each one of those. That gives us sixteen branches/tops. You can top indefinitely as long as you have the root space to handle the size of the plant.

Everybody has different goals. Some want to see the plant grow untopped/naturally, some prefer two tops, some four and some sixty four.

Just tried a special potent organic brownie:)... It's a wonderful evening! lol

wow, now thats the fkin answer i was looking for. thank you.

in my case,i topped above the 3rd node, i guess i would of got 6 branches, but i cut the very 2 bottom off already, as they would have been blocked by the leaves anyways..lol so i guess at the moment ill have 4.. once the TOPD nodes actually grow out. im not sure if i will top again, but if i do, it will have to be the shoots BELOW where i topped.

my big kush im currently growing i would have topped after the 2nd because i never came across this issue haha, and most have atleast 2-3 tops, as i cut some off that didnt get light or grow to reach.

can you suggest what i do at this point crabby?
im guessing my options would be
leave it as is, and lst(orsupercrop) the two lower shoots
or top the lower shoots hoping for an even canopy
or just leave it as is.. lol

also i can only grow them 15" tall.. maybe my best option is to let the two new ones grow and maybe top the lower ones once more..?
feels like i kind of did this backwards..haha

It's all about trying new things and seeing what works for you. If you have a few ladies to play with then do so. I take weekly pictures of my girls to check growth rates and such. Last outdoor grow I had an indica girl that got to be 9' 10" tall. Not to manageable. The ones that I topped only get to be about 5' tall and are way easier to play with. Once topped they go thru an initial period of shock, but once that is over you wont believe the explosion of growth. It is truly amazing to watch!!! This years grow I am gonna try the living soil method. My soil is cooking right now and I will be adding worms to it in about 4 weeks to aid in the quality. Really looking forward to seeing how my girls turn out this year. Seeds should be arriving any day now from Attitude. Organic is the way to go for sure. Way better smoke. Keep up the good work cbuts05, your doing an awesome job!!!

You can only grow them 15" tall? Do you mean in veg, cbuts?

Yes crab . 15" then I will flip.. current ones went 24 then flip..I've had to tie them down week 3 of flower

I think we should change your name to 'cbuts05topper#1 lol (j/k)... with that kind of height limit, I would be topping all the time to keep the plants short, wide and with as many tops as I could fit in a spot. Have you though about a screen? Set the screen at 15", top like crazy to fill the holes in the screen. Once the holes are mostly filled up then, flip to 12/12.

Thanks bud, u suggest I lst the top branches so the lower 4 shoots catch up ?
Or should I wait until I transplant ?
I believe solo cups are only good for a month ?

You are going to need to top the two inter branches/tops in a few days (waiting for the side branches to recover) and then on to low stress training.

By topping the inter branches in a few days (not yet), it will slow down the growth of these inter branches for a few days and speed up the growth of the side branches, allowing all eight branches/tops to be at similar heights/sizes giving you a plant with eight nice colas. We need this to happen otherwise you're going to have two large main inner colas and four short side colas that never receive proper light.
