Topping before flowering

Hey guys I'm a long time smoker, first time grower. Mainly just experimenting. I germinated and planted bagseeds, 3 have sprouted and they are just under 3 weeks old now, I spotted the 3rd and even 4th set of leaves but I want fairly small plants with main colas(even if they're not overly large) So, I've decided to top my plants one at the 3rd node and one at the 4th.

My question is: how long should I wait before ze ole 12/12? I'm thinking about a week or so?(space is definately an issue)

Thanks guys:mrgreen: muchly appreciated! I'm using seasol nutrients which is an all round nutrient used for root development/veging/flowering etc. so it should recover fairly quickly. Just one more question, I need to change the pot cause I'm fairly sure the roots are starting to poke out the bottom and if they aren't they probly will soon, so can I swap to bigger potplants now? or should I wait a while to prevent further stress on my little babies?

Awesome and thanks, I didn't want to put them under so much stress all at once, I'll give them about a week of recovery before transplanting than :)

I read the bottle and it tells me that there is "virtually no nitrogen or phosphorus" i'm not too worried about nitrogen but when it comes to flowering I'm gonna need Phosphorus and Potassium, so I may need different fertilizer, NPK: 10-20-20 or 15-30-30?

yeah that's the one, I bought it when they sprouted just to help them out a bit, but just kept using it since haha, Is the powerfeed worth using, do you know? I only have 2 or so more weeks before flowering or will it help with flowering? I've heard about it but never really thought about using it, I know it has alot of nitrogen that I don't want but it also has phosphrus in it, which my little ladies do need. ???

I don't know to be honest mate, I grow hydro and use Dutch Master Gold Flower A/B, Calmag and Monsta Bud additive, the DM Gold is about $30 where I am, cheaper on the net.

ahhhk Say no more Hydro growing would be awesome, no mess of dealing with soil. I'll have to look up those products. thanks dude :)

The DM Gold nutrients I use shouldn't be used in soil. I only know about hydro nutrients. As a guide, maybe try a 1-3-2 npk ratio blooming/flowering fert for flowering. But the Monsta Bud you see it at Bunnings is really good has lots of goodies including gibberellic, fulvic and humic acids. The Calmag is just a calcium, magnesium and iron supplement useful when using rainwater or distilled water as I do.
