I have two hollands hope plants nearly touching the roof of my greenhouse. There's still 4 or 5 weeks of vegetative growth anyone any advice on topping the plants?
Agree that you're late. Any possibility (horizontal space) of Super Cropping and tying down the branches to keep them lower? You're a little late for that bro. You should top just above the second node.
I was thinking about that alright tying the branches down. I'll have to give Google a skip thru. I'm after topping them already I topped two of them twice. But the other two are after getting very tall and nearly at the roof. Any useful links for me please?Agree that you're late. Thanks mate I think I'm going to try supper cropping and LST. I'll post a few pictures if I remember to take them hahaI'd go for super cropping....and flipping if height's going to be a problem in the future..
for me, Uncle Ben's technique works great. good adviceSome light reading here on RIU, have you checked it out yet? https://www.rollitup.org/t/uncle-bens-topping-technique-to-get-2-or-4-main-colas.151706/
Wow glad your not my dad lol. Getting kind of a I told you so thing going lol. Yes he/she fucked up so perhaps a suggestion .... Throw him a bone....helping hand kind of thing.WTF?
Why in hell do you still have 4-6 weeks of veg to go? Outside lighting = You started too early!
Inside = your vegging way, way too long!
Most plants will dbl in size during bloom......Running a Sativa? Make that as much as triple in size! Your not even TO bloom yet!
Like potpimp said (in a way) You need to manage your veg size to available space considering the end size potential of the strain!
All right calm yourself man. Started to early? Is that a thing?WTF?

Yup you gave them a nice long bit lol. I'm pretty sure most have done the "fuck me, it's gotten to big" thing. The doc has been a bit cranky lately, he means well I'm sure lol.All right calm yourself man. Started to early? Is that a thing?
Mid April I started them. Give them a nice bit a growing.
Yeah Pardon me,,grumpy,,long story. Sorry about that. All right calm yourself man. Started to early? Is that a thing?

Like I said, I'm sure you mean well and even polite Canadian me has had a few moments lol.Yeah Pardon me,,grumpy,,long story. Sorry about that.
Yes - too long a veg period is a "thing", when combined by space limitations....Say you have a seven ft in height area. Your hanging 1K lighting and you need 18 inch's of open space between the light and the canopy. That will give you somewhere around 4.5 ft of plant height limit to grow in. A 24 inch tall plant (not including pot) is about the limit as it will dbl in height in bloom.
This can be cheated by supercropping. Say you ran to as much as 32 inch's. You simply do the super cropping at around 20 inch's from the light and finish the plant.
If you let a plant touch the total space limit in height. You've well over vegged!
Remember what I said that Indica's and heavy Indica cross's do = double in size in bloom,,,AND Sativa's can triple (or more for some landrace strains)! Remember this as your guideline to veg size limits!

Half the famdamnly is Canuk....Family in Toronto, Aurora (home of the original MOM's side family farms, None in actual use - just land, Winsor, Sarnia, London and the skiing freaks (I belong to that group) out in Canmore and Banff!
