Well the title says it all. I've read lots of and lots of posts on topping, different suggested ways of getting 2 or 4 colas, but no one seems to say when is a good tme to do it?

I'm guessing it has to be done in Veg... but can it be done in first week of flower??

Someone has to know the answer and be nice enough to tell me surely :-o

Thanks

All goes on the height and size of the over hall room, plants will double or tripple in height
I veg,for 4 week by this time the plants are around 1 1/2 ft tall, this is done under a 600 hps light
this will take longer if useing low intence lighting like cfls
flowering will take around 8/9 week if the plants are grown in a room that they like [KEYED]
KEYED ;temps are all bang on humidity is also perfect for the time of flowering
Get good nutes these will make a big differance in the end result
keep what ever lights you are useing has close to the plant tops has possible

if youre gonna top and need more colas strong enuff to support weight and produce buds top at around two weeks veg. snip the top right OFF. when done early 1 cut will give 6 colas dependant on pheno.

Depends on strain. I'll trim up into the second week in flower. But after that if they get too long or lanky they get LST'd or supercropped.

The correct answer is to let them grow 5 rows of leaves. Then cut the top 2 rows of leaves for the first clone. In about another week or 2 take those top 2 when they have the next 2 or 3 leaf rows for more clones (4 or 5 total leaf rows from the last cut). That means by one month you have 3 clones and about a foot tall plant ready for flower. Very good use of time... Look into cloning next. You now have a plant with 4 tops or more if the lower nodes grew well. The clones when roots showing can go into flower asap or let em veg. more. good luck

oh, best to let any plant have another week in veg. after a top before flower starts. better results.

if you top during the flowering process it slows your plant down she has to waste energy repairing herself instead of putting on flowers and trichs. if you top during flowering your tops dont have time to grow but a few inches then this gives your two buds that practicly grow into each other which isnt good cuz it could cause mold just wait now do it next time in veg
