Topping maybe??

I have a closet grow and working with about 4-5ft of upward grow room. Growing some blue cheese (primarily indica) and was planning on topping my plants....

The good thing is that I'm at the fifth node (where I intend to top) and my plants are about 4 inches tall!! Short little bushy things!!! Was gonna put them into flower in a few days as this is the 26th day of veg.

should I even worry about topping at all? I was thinking i might not have to (taking into account that I have 4-5ft to work with)...

should i top or not? suggestions??

how much are you looking to yield off this grow and how patient can you be. if you are willing to veg them for twice to 3 times as long and if you top them two or three times you will GREATLY increase your yeild and it really lets the side growths catch up

here mines a few weeks ago befor toping and then now and this was after only one topping im still debating if i can be patient enough to do more


so you shouldn't need to top at all for height but for maximum yield i would recomend it or look into LST ( low stress training )

mine were also on the 5 th to 6th node and are a even mix of sativa and indica genetics but seem to phenotypicly express the indica traits so i think with the proper care and and light you will have similar results

your plants can stretch to twice, even three times their height during flowering so you have to take that into consideration. Do you have 4-5 feet of room between the top of your plants and the light? Or the space in general? Just think ahead, if your light is all the way raised and you have 4-5 feet of room you should be fine as long as you flower early and keep them short. What kind of light are you using?

at their current height of his plants ( 4' ) they would need to sky rocket upwards to even come close to outgrowing their space. I think with his indica genetics he should be just fine height wise. But you are right in that he needs to keep in mind if he continues to veg them that thye will double to tripple in size durring flowering

so what im gathering is that i should top them and veg a little longer?? I'm workin with 2 plants, a 250w HPS and a few high wattage CFLs (40w I believe). I'm lookin for max yield possible. and really I can work up to like 6 feet if i really had to. Im not really in any rush but would like to start flowering relatively soon.

yep you should top them then veg them for a week and a half then top all the heads that have caught up. this will lead to a really nice bush and a much better yield due to the large number of new growths so close to the light as opposed to only the main kholla while the rest of the plant is 1-4 feet away

cool cool....k ive never topped more than once...i'll prob top tomorrow then veg another week and a half. would I use the same procedure as the first topping when topping again in a week and a half??

check out the process of FIM in the grow FAQ or do a quick google search. thats what i did or tryed to do lol. and even if you mess up then its just a topping

top that momma!!!!!!!! she will stunt for about a week then take off, just look at my great white shark grow, its called How long should i veg this plant, and its in indoor growing

heard that!! yeah i'll put up some pics in like 2 weeks...prob gonna put them into flowering on christmas. A solid 38 days of veg! which is a lot for me..
