Topping - Need to know if plant is reacting right

Hey,

So I've topped my plant around 2 weeks ago and I want to know if she is acting right. After topping I had other stems going up to get light - it made them very promising. However, 2 weeks after topping I started to see that the top has reformed a stem (for somehow it only started now). Will this halt the grow of other stems so the new head will recover and be like an untopped plant? should I cut the stem to prevent the plant from forming this new head? I'm lost....

Yes the top will put out new tops and all branches will grow if they are treated right.

I would advise look'n into LST...SCROG or other means to control hight. Trimming very far into blooming is not a good idea (IMHO).

well I just started blooming 2 days ago and had first tie (LST) done, its going to be around the pot. Now yeah I topped, should of pulled out new tops sooner, in aditiion, it's only pulling one top meaning my cause didn't work.

I expect you to see a bit more height even though you have topped.

If need be you can still top again.

If you cut or pinch off the top you should also expect 2 main colas to come out of the node, but the lower nodes will also branch out more, and because this takes more energy from the plant, growth will be stunted slightly. Its good to have bushy plants(even though they could take up space) if you want plenty of clones, but in terms of harvesting this plant, you could harvest just as much by not topping it, if not more. Another thing to keep in mind is that some strains respond differently. I topped two plants, one turned out with two colas and the other ended up with a mess of branches, and some how resulted in a regenerated main branch(probably caused by stress or bad genetics). Another downside is the strength of a stem, it'd be better to have one healthy and thick stem to support bigger buds rather than a stem splitting into two smaller ones.

toping can vary from strain to strain also i would look into the FIM technique.

your plant wasnt flowering was it?
any and all toping /FIM sould be done in good veg growth under 18/6 light
