Topping problem

so i tried to top my plants, and my plants leaves still grew out, but they are only half the leaves. did i not cut closer to the stem as i was suppose 2

they will always grow back out ,, but there will be more groth after u topp ,, topping just keeps them a bit shorter ,, & instead of 1 main stem ,, now u will have 2 , or 3 or 4 ,, depends on how u topped ,,, check out the thread on the (FIM) topping style

When you say topped, did you cut the whole top off? That is what i do and stick that top cut end in cloning gel and stick that in a moist rockwool cube, got yourself a clone. The idea to top your plant is to limit the height it will get. It will also make a bushier plant, with more colas.

no im trying to make it so the plant has to stems. but the leaves just grew out.

your ok just wait a week,,, as long as you have good light, youll be good...you just didnt cut enough,,, but youll be happy just like that, as your plant will slow down enough to let the lower branches catch up and make your plant a little bush....................................................................................

I was going to make a new thread but since this is here decided what the hell ill post here. Well ive looked around the site and gooled a few different things and cant seem to find out how exactly to top a plant. I know you cut the top off but could anyone show me some pic's, or mabie give me a link to a site where I can find some tricks to how its done successfully, or possibly a link to a video?? Just curious I want to top some of my plants and see how it goes any info would be much appreciated.

Could you clone a top in soil???? Top a plant then place it directly into soil?

You could, but may have better luck with a rockwool cube or an organic plug. Tooping them will create more colas than just a main one. I also branch clone mine too to make them even bushier.
