Topping question.

So I attempted topping my plant last week. I read alot of threads here on this forum, and thought that I had understood where to top my plant. So its been a week now and the place that I "topped" (the cut portion) has shiffted to the side and the node that was directly next to where I topped, took its place and now is growing straight up. Will it continue to grow taller? Did I top it correctly?

Dont know if you could see the little nub where I cut it. But if you look at the main stem you can see a little brown dot.

Can't see much from that picture.......

pictures below .. are both about two weeks after topping ..... flowering plants were topped two weeks into flowering .. you can see the result .. the smaller vegging plant .. was topped after four weeks of vegging .... it was a clone .. with alternating nodes .. and trimmed way down .. I probably took off two thirds of the plant height ..

Good Luck .. experiment a little bit .

The main stem that you topped should have sprouted 2 new shoots on both sides of the nub.

Also you should see faster growth of the new shoots coming from nodes below where you topped
