what happens to the node development when you top?

i know it will grow 2 shoots but do the shoots develope nodes as well, im trying to fill a small scrog and looking for around a 10 inch base under the scrog so i want to get it to branch as much as possible. just a seedling maybe 6 days old now.

if i cut that new growth i will get 2 nodes that start to shoot up. on the 2 nodes will i get node develoment or will i be screwing myself by doing that

hell no,top the shit out of em. slows vertical growth a bit for a few days but way worth it. and yes you will get new nodes and top them fuckers too. be sure to look into supercropping. i do both with excellent results. good luck

Turned them male?

Ummm, Ever think it was a male seed from start? lol

Topping is a great technique to use. As I said before, I would wait till the plant has more leaf sets.

i have done topping supercropping and its all strain dependent in al seriousness sure you top but what have you relly done here ???? is took away your top main cola sure you get new growth that fight for top position lol but in reality sometimes just leaving them alone will gain you more yield lot or people that top lst and even super crop do this for one purpose height issues and try to get more yields

going back to i tryed it sure i got 3 - 6 tops were they anywhere near the size of a non touched plant not even close

Topping is a method used for a few reasons. First, it causes your plant to grow shorter and bushier, rather than tall. It also significantly increases the yield you get from your medical marijuana garden. Most gardeners prefer to top their plant after 5 sets of nodes have formed on the plant, but it can be successfully done as early as when the plant has 3 sets of nodes. While we already stated the benefits of topping, there are a few downfalls as well. First of all, topping has shown to slow growth, although not significantly. Also, while you will have more colas, the buds on these colas will be slightly smaller. Most gardeners also prefer not to top more than 3 times, as this tends to be very hard on the plant.

If possible, be sure to use sterile scissors whenever you cut your plant in order to reduce the risk of infection. You should also note that topping should only be performed during the vegetative stage and should NEVER be done during flowering. This is because when you switch to the 12/12 light cycle, the plant starts focusing its energy on flower growth rather than leaf growth. If you top it in the flowering stage, you will have basically cut off one of your colas.

If height is an issue why not look into LST. People always think that 2 colas are better than one but its not true. You will have 2 smaller main buds instead of one large one. To me topping a plant slows down growth. You can get the same effect with LST and skip the shock of cutting the plant.

way i look at it live and learn lol i have tryed it and the plants did not over yield my untouched plants sure i got 6 colas but when they were dry they were small and not even close to weight as one of my untouched plants its all about yield in my books
what i do is when i get into second week of flower i tie up my side branches and point them up this giving me 5 to 6 huge buds that never got stressed lol
