What's up RIU, quick question how old or big do plants need to be before you can top them? And how many times should you top a plant? Thanks.. These plants are outside..

If you want your plant branching out at the beggening of the stalk. Top after 2nd or 3rd node then again after 5th to 6th node. Then from there i would look into lst for the rest of the plant training.

thats right...cut through the stem just above the leaves. If you wanna top a few times then I hear mainlining is pretty good, could be worth a look, good luck ;-)

This is correct, ...best for me is wash your hands and pinch them out with your fingers ....then clone out those you just pinched out ....easy

Lst stands for low stress training it is basically like topping but instead of pinching off your top node you will be tieing that top node downward. So the rest of the nodes below the top are now open to more light and they all want to be the top. The art of lst is to try to grow your plants wide with lots of tops rather then growing tall with a few main colas. When you lst a plant you want to fill in the space your working with. Your light coverage. Here is a pineapple chunk i lst last night and you can see the top is allready trying to go towards the light again.
