Topping question

I've grown a lot of plants, but I have never used topping as one of my methods. I'm trying this sour D and I know they get tall, so I topped it a week ago. Should I top it again already? It's got some little limbs below, should I top them to?

Personally I would let her get a node or two before topping again, but some guys go crazy and still get results. I top side branches sometimes to get a wider canopy, but usually when they are catching up or overtaking the main stems/growth tips.

Sounds good. Thank you.

I top 3 times successively. Meaning after it’s healed and can be topped again I do it. This gets you 8 main colas. Then I supercrop them to keep canopy height low. Once in the tent I’m usually good even after stretch.

Excessive topping gets you so many branches you block a lot of light from the start.

Don't cut the lower branches unless taking clones. Top only the tippy tops of the tallest colas. Pulling off the tips that emerge like praying hands that will slow upward growth in favor of the lower branches. Makes them into new colas eventually.
Topping is one thing but I find pinching in between nodes to be just as effective at training out the canopy. Pinch in between the branches of the tallest colas first. Apply pressure until you feel it go limp. The spot you pinched will grow back thicker to support larger flowers later on but growth slows down slightly while the stem rebuilds itself stronger. Doing this favors the lower branches to grow faster thereby even-ning the canopy.

Topping is definitely effective but the plant has to recover. Imo top/FIM once then stick with LST.

I top once for 4 colas and lst, still doesn't give me the bushes I'm looking for. Next year I'm trying a few for 8 and one for 16. Haven't tried fimming yet, but then again i probably won't. I need as much eveness as possible, ocd maybe... probably... well whatever.

Top as much as u plz as soon as they heal u can top again, but u need to tie those mains down as well to truly benefit if u want a short bush

I'll at most top once or twice but supercropping is my preferred method of canopy control. Supercropping doesn't slow the plant down. Everything keeps growing and once you master it cutting the tops off doesn't make much sense.

After reading all this I've decided to stick with the once topping, and lst the two main colas. Seems simple enough. Thanks for all the suggestions and comments.
