Have you already bout the hood. If not consider a vented hood and vent through takes away a lot of heat be for it can build up.

Unfortunately I already purchased two hoods. I did see vented hoods afterwords and regretted purchasing mine but too much of a hassle to return now.

Thanks for the reply. My "grow room" is a smaller room within a big room, in a basement, do you think cutting a 3-6" hole in one of the walls (insulation board) would be sufficient enough for an exhaust. The fan would blow into the room and the air would only have the hole as means to escape outside of the grow room. Or do I have to get more high tech then that? lol. Sorry if that sounds silly.
You need an actual exhaust as in vent to out side it'll stink to high hell if you allow it to vent out into your basement

HPS and MH bulbs are very hot if you wanted it really good I'd go to home depot and by an inline duct fan and use that as and exhaust system if smell isn't and issue than just hook that up to pump out all the air and create a passive intake from the suction! I'd recommend a carbon filter tho as well.. It will get very stinky.

Seems like a silly question, but is the ballast/your whole rig 220V? What voltage are most of the power outlets in your home?
If you're plugging in 220V equipment in 110V outlets and vice versa, you're gonna have a bad time.
