Total newbie worrying about everything, need some help

I am new to growing so of course I am been paying way to much attention and freaking out about everything. About a month ago a buddy of my was getting rid of his hydroponics spinners because he had to many. I snatched it up to try my first grow. I am about 3 weeks into flowering and everything is going good. I have just been having to deal with some humidity issues but nothing to crazy. Yesterday I was talking to a dude at the local hydro store and he said that the spinners are none to produce herms. So I started inspecting everything and I have not seen any bananas but I have notices that every plant I have has false seed sacs (calyx), or at least I believe thats what they are. I am worried that they might be herming on me. I have read a ton of blogs and watched videos but I am still not sure. It would be best If I could just get some clarity by asking my own questions.

Any thoughts?

There are no males in the pictures. It looks like you have minimal nutrient burn. But they look absolutely amazing especially for a new grower. Good luck on a big harvest

That is good to hear. what do you think about the ball in the center of the second picture. Is it just a calyx ? It has trichomes growing all over it and two pistols coming out the end but it is very large and round. All of my plants have something like this going on.

The best advice I can give right now since you have great looking plant pics, is DO NOT rely on hydro store employee recommendations or suggestions, unless you know them personally, since their main purpose is to collect your money, not grow your plant to her fullest.

Look at the tri-leaflets that surround the bud. There showing signs of something either phosphorus def. or Magnesium def. they should be green.

settle down bro, everything looks groovy as fuck.

hermaphroditism is a result of stress on the plant or a genetic predisposition, not any particular method of cultivation or tool used in growing.

im curious, whats a "hydroponic spinner" anyway?

if youre talking about the spinny nozzles that look like wee lil sprinklers from an Aero-Cloner, thats aeroponics, not hydroponics.

if youre growing these sweet hotties with aeroponics on your first go without even knowing the difference then you got magical green fingers like a motherfucker.

you probably piss rooting compound and shit rich loamy organic compost.

do flowers bloom in the dead of winter just because you walked by?

the rest of us have to work at this shit you know, we cant just toss seeds on barren rock and wave our hands like some kind of ancient forest diety.

ohh how i hate you.

hate hate hate hate.

If you are scared about the swollen ball (which looks totally female to me) you can wait and watch and if anything else pushes out of the calyx besides those two hairs, then it is a herm. Or for a faster but more difficult diagnoses tear it off and open it with a razor blade or scissors. It should have a tiny green (unfertilized) seed with two (white) hairs attached. IF there is ANYTHING else it is most likely a bisexual flower expression, not a full herm. The male parts that would be inside look like little green fingers until they mature when they pop out and turn yellow (hence bananas).

I am thinking that it is most likely nute burn. I am using the technaflora recipe and replacing the reservoir every week. I could also be a nute lock problem because my pH tester is not very accurate.

How the CO2?
You are going to laugh. I dont have any money right now for a CO2 setup so I made my own unit until I get one. I took 2 liter bottles and filled them with sugar water and yeast. I have the tubes running to my intake fan. I had everything I needed laying around the house. I am getting a few large bubbles every 2 seconds.

Hahaha This shit had me cracking up.

Check out this video. I has the spinners that I am talking about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMzZT_P09YI. It is a hydroponics unit but they do make mods to turn it into an aeroponic setup.

Awesome. I did already cut a few open and it was just like you described.

Great job on the initiative. That excellent work ethic probably has something to do with why your plantsllook so great.
