Total noob to indoor growing. First diy cob build.

First off, a big thank you to everyone that offers up vital, usable information here. I'm pretty new to indoor growing and have made countless mistakes. Like many on here I have fallen for the expensive cheap ass Chinese led lights. They did work, but I was still very disappointed. I've been lurking silently around here for a few months now and trying to absorb as much of everyone's knowledge and hard work as possible while preparing for a diy cob build. I have 2 small 2x4 tents (actual 54"w x 26"d x 84"h) one of which I have finally added my new light to. The light consists of 8-cxb3590 3500k mounted on 140mm x 80mm heat sinks and driven by a MeanWell HLG-320H-C1050B with a dimmer. I made the frame from 1in. T-slot. I am looking to do another light in the very near future for my other tent so I'm looking for any constructive criticism, concerns, opinions or whatever. I do have one question that I just can't seem to find the answer to. I plugged the light into a kill-a-watt meter and all the lights worked fine but with the dimmer turned all the way up the light only pulled 290w at the wall. Can anyone maybe explain why?

because that driver is 320W but you arent using it all. it can handle 305V of cobs but you only have 271V on there. you might squeeze a 9th cob on there but its close @ just over 305V

also put a switch in your dimmer circuit. if you open it up it will give you ~105% of current which is a little boost

good looking build!

what is the part number of that terminal block that fits on the din rail?

Thanks, I'll look into that. The holder for the wago connectors is 222-500. Got em off amazon.

so the little arms just swing out and you drop 2-5 slot wagos in there? thats pretty dope....

not sure if youre aware but that DIN rail is universal and there are thousands of relays/drivers/contactors and other components that click on there

Yeah, finally starting to figure that out. I wish that I could've found a box about the same depth and length, but not quite as wide. I think it was something like 200mm x 90mm x 67mm. It doesn't seem to get in the way of the light, but it is kinda bulky.

dude you have stolen my thunder, thats our next kit rev

we are using a bracket so you can get Z movement as well as angular shape on the cooler, loving your build

Thanks Mark. Meant no harm. lol. I did however fail to mention that you did supply the cobs, heatsinks, holders and reflectors. Thanks!
