I've never seen it as advertisement.
Bad advertisement isn't always good advertisement. Works that way with celebrities but that's just cause most of them don't have souls.

Some people may find this jesus dude funny, but I find him and his mocking totally distasteful.
I think it's disgusting that someone is able to do this with the blessing of the mods.
I understand that a site like this is unlikely to have a ton of religious people, but that shouldn't mean it's perfectly fine to take someone's spiritual icon and make fun of it.
