Dude you can easily warm your water .. I was in Pet'smart the other day and in the aquarium aisle they sell heater wands that warm up aquarium water for like 30 bucks ..

if you warm up 3 or full buckets of water to 65 -70 degrees then the room will room somewhat too. if the plant is cold and the water is cold that would have to be bad. i could see warm water being ok for cooler plant temps. like constant 65 degree plant temps water would probably be ok a little warmer.

Yea, and do you guys know if you can cut air stone to make them smaller? I have all 12" stones I would like to make them smaller for the buckets.

You can go to any petstore that sells aquarium supplies and just buy a pack of small ones for a couple bucks... theres many different sizes for cheap...

Did your pump come with a bag of small ones? mine did. Sorry tho, not sure if you can cut them... if you have extras, give one a good ole fasioned hacksaw and find out? Best of luck

Haha I have like 10 fucking 12" ones im gona try it lol, had these for use in a different grow that fell through on location.

Coolers are the way to go.
Heat is ALWAYS an issue with rez temps ! Which causes instability due to PH fluctuations.
It's unavoidable. It WILL become a concern for every DWC grower at some point.
You can use the 5gal sports coolers from Lowes or Home Depot, like Weedler and BeaverHuntr.
Or spend $24 like I did on a 12gal Igloo Marine cooler.
I have 2 coolers with 4 - 5 inch net pots in each lid.
Since I converted months ago, my rez stays stable on where I put it......5.8 PH !!
And I just harvested 3 JillyBeans from 1 cooler that was 12/12 FROM SEED.
Dry yield = 5 ounces (lost 1.4 ounces to mold)

Was that 5 ounces before or after the 1.4 ounce loss?

5.2 ounces dry, before mold was found.
3.8 ounces dry, after mold was found.
Before mold was found, each plant:
1.5 ounces
1.75 ounces
1.95 ounces
Again, 12/12 from seed under a 400w Horti the ENTIRE TIME !!

Bucket or tote has no bearing over the number of plants, purely shape and size of the container :/

My Igloo Marine's are 12gal each.
22L x 14W x 14H (outside inches).
20 x 12 x 12 (inside inches).
All white with some kind of UVA/B blocking shit on the exterior, according to Igloo.
Here's something I've never read or heard discussed about regular 5gal buckets.
Sitting and smoking some of that sweet Jilly, it's really no wonder why folks have probs with them buckets.
They are made from an industrial grade plastic and are to be used for everything except food storage.
They are not approved for food and beverage, like coolers.
Therefore regular 5gal buckets take on a different kind of chemical reaction to our grow nutes and plants.
Coolers, being made to store food and beverage long term, may have little or no chemical reaction.
Therefore they most definitely, to some degree of advantage, provide a more stable environment for Temps and PH.
After all, it's temps and ph that plague DWC growers the most and in that order.
Two things which very much go hand-in-hand and lots of growers fail to realize as well as understand.
I guarantee you, more stable temps (61F - 68F) will get you more stable ph.
The ppm's are up to the plant and what they feel like consuming.
But they can't get what they need without, TEMPS and PH, being stable.
Plus coolers are able to block out our intense lights and their heat effectively and efficiently.
I mean damn, they were made to be put in direct sunlight, which is 10,000 lumens/sq ft on the brightest day !

That sounds like some good reasoning there. Personally i have never taken either water or room temperature readings, and so long as the ph meter reads 5.X when i fill it up, i'm happy to leave it do as it wants, never experienced an issue playing that way haha
