i call them trail cams! i use them for wildlife photography , hunting tool, and this summer i will be setting up my 2 cams near my patch

does anybody else use these things,,

i imagine it will tell me if someone has found my patch and/or reveal the ripper/s if theft is the case!

I got my Dad one for Christmas. Thought of using it for an MJ patch immediately. However, never bothered. It would be cool to see what animals show up. However, if it took pics of someone stealing your plants, the damage would be done by the time you found out. I mean, if you planted on your own property and the cam showed your neighbours around your plants, then that would be interesting... However, most ppl plant away from their own property so all the cam would show would be random ppl you don't know at your plants.

I guess, it still interests me. I just think the most use would be from seeing what animals frequent your patch and to see if anyone comes now and then and checks out your patch. Meaning, you would find out initially if someone had found your plants early on and was waiting for the end to steal them. GOtta remember that ppl steal trail cams once they realize they have been photographed.

I was thinking about this myself but a hunting friend of mine was saying that as animal will not notice its picture being taken but a human sure would unless it was up high enough in a tree that they wouldn't notice

Actually, some (like the one we have) don't make a flash during the day and at night us a Infrared flash that cannot be seen. The camera is ultra quiet, so you see and hear nothing. My point isn't the effectiveness of the cams at all. Rather, it's whether you would gain much useful info since by the time you check the pics, whatever was captured has come and gone. IE, you see pics of random ppl cutting your plants down after you already find your plants gone. Again, the animals at your plants or ppl you personally know being caught on cam would be the most interesting to me. Cams just show what has already happened... they don't prevent anything. That being said, I say give it a shot and post up some pics. They are definitely neat.

if it were me though, I'd just be a little more upset coming to my patch after it being ravaged then going home to check the card and see pictures of who it was. not like you could really do anything after the fact. I'd say just don't worry about what you can't control

They make some that email you pics automatically, when they are taken. Those would be the only kind that I would imagine would be helpful for guerrilla growers. Let you know before you walked into a trap.

If my plants get stolen it's my fault for having them where someone will stumble upon them or running my mouth about them. I could give a fuck less who steals them, if they get stolen.

i care! im getting one of those cameras for hunting anyways, so why not use it on the old patch? plus i want to kick the shit out of rippers, i looked into some 2way radios with motion alarm and 5 mile transmitter, that would be helpfull,

I've been interested in getting a trail cam. Does any body know of a good infrared/no flash camera? Around the $200 dollar range i think. thanks

my brother has 2 of them, but the infrared still makes a red glow that a deer or animal might not spook but humans will see the red glow , but if you google " moultrie i45 " you will see what your looking for its 289$ tho, and i think they only hit stores in august, anyways these moultrie i45 trail-cams are the shit ( so ive read ) theyr supposed to have 100% invisible infrared and you can put a at&t sim card inside and the cam will send you an e-mail of the photo as soon as it captures something...

i might be getting one since i hunt alot and could be usefull in the garden come harvest time..

Well as for the camera, I'd use one. But I wouldn't go out and buy one. I do always carry my handheld scanner with an ear piece tuned in to the local police incase of suspoius activity reported. Not that anyone would ever see me, it makes me feel better.
