Training vs scrog

Oh. And let me just ask u guys rather make a new thread.

I'm using the gh 3 part. The feed schedule has a part for transition.
I'm guessing I would go 12-12 and on that day change the res out and follow the transition schedule for about a week???

This blue kripple is supposed to finish in about 8 weeks so I'm thinking the aero will speed that up to about 7 weeks??
Yeah that's fine for nute schedule.

Nah even though hydro/aero is quicker than soil I don't feel the flower time to be much quicker(although I've never grown in soil but judging off the breeder recommendation). If a strain ever says 8 weeks def plan for 9, maybe 10. Until you learn an actual strain you never know. I'm growing a 65-70 day flower strain and i'm on day 102 and she could go another 2 weeks...

I just visited the room. The more I look at it the more I'm ready to give up. I'm attaching some pics. I think I have enough veg to fill a 4x4 net. I'm thinking I'll build one tonight and try to fit it over this mess. I know it's not a true scrog because I didn't top but it will probably be better than what I'm doing now. If I can n pull a pound out of it I won't lose any cash and next grow I can do it right.

What do you think??
Yeah do it up, better than not!

I took this in high def. You should be able to zoom in good

I have a real mess. There are alot of fan leaves in the canopy. Should I cut those out or will that hurt my yield?

Leave the fan leaves, you can tuck the higher ones under if they are covering fan leaves of lower budsites. Those leaves are taking in the light to help feed the budsite it's attached too. So if you let the lower ones get more light that can help them grow up to the canopy as well
Usually in a normal scrog where you have a full canopy you would remove leaves from below the net since they aren't getting light anyway and helps direct more energy to above the screen where the goods are. I would leave yours alone for now though, doesn't look necessary right now.

Best of luck to you, and let me know how the bud turns out...

Got a Blue Kripple 33 days into flower, and theres like..... zero thrich production.... shes pretty, tall and healthy, strong looking, budding nicely...... but no pretty crystals to be found.... I keep hoping I will walk in one evening n be mind blown.....

Cant find a decent scope to save my ass, either they are a pain to hold/focus, or the lights are garbage :(

Remember as you let it veg, how much it will grow during the first few weeks of flower, 75% screen coverage is optimal (rule of thumb, not exact science) I have had a scrog go out of control on me cuz I over veg'd lol... seemed like a lot of bud, but in the end was just a lot of smaller buds, roughly same amount of bud.... sucks for trimming...

Did a TGA 'Dairy Queen' ..... I never suggest anyone ever NOT scrog that bitch.... shes a low sprawling bush, small to medium buds.... but down right shiny with thrichs, and the smell is fucking amazing.... I was gonna scrap it (hate these bushy plants, I like my trees) but the smell n crystals made me keep the clone I had, and it will be my new BHO bud, full harvest.

Did you manage to diagnose the yellowing of those apical leaves in the photo?
That pic was late flower. They turned red , maroon, brown, purple. They lasted the last few weeks. Just had two that colored up. It was a winter grow with very cool nights.

The one one the left probably could have used more N since the veg time was longer for a scrog.

There were heat problems to. Also a brief battle with mites.

There were problems that got fixed. I kind of needed a problem grow to document some things for a project I'm working on.

My current grow.

Hello. Just my two pence :). I've been learning to LSt, top and fem, while training the three girls i have into an 'X' position. Loving this type of method - yes - i'm having to giving a lot more vegging time to do this, totally-worth-the-efforts.
