Been a lurker here, and have outdoor balcony grow experience, but have never grown indoors. I started in the beginning of . I started from bagseed of Trainwreck I got from one of the Bay Area clubs. Had 2 other seedlings, but were infested by Spider Mites. Had 2 other clones, but the roots were horrible and never grew.

I am using the Kelloggs Organic Soil bought from Lowes which contains Bat Guano and chicken manure, and other organic components. I have one Trainwreck plant in a 3x4 foot space. The goal of this is to raise one mother trainwreck to clone, and grow 6 clones. Lets just focus on the one plant. I'm using 6 23watt lights. Five 6500K 23watt bulbs, and 1 2700L 23 watt bulb. I will continue to add more bulbs with Y splitters as needed. All of this is 24 hour light. The temperature varies from 76-83. The humidity ranges anywhere from 33% to 50%.

September 3- Germination
September 4- Tranplanted into cup
September 20- transplanted into 1 gallon pot
October 4- First Signs of Spider Mites
October 9- Spider Mite Infection sets in, discard all other infected plants.
October 10- Spray Neem Oil
October 21- Transplanted into 5 Gallon Bucket with 4 holes on bottom to drain. Discarded infected soil, dowsed with Neem oil.
October 22- Saturated Soil

Questions:

1. Should I buy grow nutrients, and if so, what kind? Where can I get it. Should I use organic nutrients?

2. Spider Mites seem gone, some underleaves, sprayed with neem oil. How long should I keep spraying?

3. Should I raise or lower the chandalier of CFL clamp lights?

4. Should I switch to 18/6? or 12/12?

5. What strategy should I use to make it bushy and tall?

6. Is it worth while to give it CO2?

Here are some pics:

Any feedback is welcome. Please feel free to ask for any more pics or information. Thank you.

sup bro looks like your grow is going great so far, the plant looks like its sativa so just know you will be flowering for awhile. i could help u answer some questions. i cant answer questions 1 and 2; but i do know that it wouldnt hurt to lower the light fixture a lil bit..i cant really get a perception to how much up or down u should go by the picture, it dosent look like ur plant is stretched or streching so where u have it now is optimal, but if u can get it a lil closer without harm using ur hand to see how hot it would get ontop of the plants, u might want to add some side lighting as well..... you can switch to 18/6 right away im pretty sure or u can do it 1 hr at a time daily so 23-1, 22-2...till u get to 18/6 but just knwo wehn u do 12/12 it will start to flower so unless ur done veggin dont switch to 12/12. some things u can do to make it bushier is LST'ing it. u can search up what that is for more info but its basicly holding branches down to the side so the bracnches under those big leafs can grow up and then u can lst those which will give u a bushy plant with equal yeild on all brancehs because there all getting the same amount of light.. and adding co2 wont hurt at all. they breath co2 and release oxygen... also look that up on how to induce co2 into ur grow room with no harm and great results. lata bro

fuck yeah bro you should clone her out, but wait till she gets quite a bit bigger, and stretching really isn't that big of a deal if you are going to take clones, you will have more to work with....good luck...

yeah trainwreck is a sativa so whatever...

shes way ready to flower. it looks like you are trying to copy my Shipwreck grow. check it out in my signature and ask me if you have any specific questions.

your lights should be way closer. like 1" from the plant. no further than 2". each bulb needs to be like right on the plant for it to use these lumens.
Remember.. plants grow in the SUN... the big burning star in the sky... your cfls are nothing compared to the sun... but as long as they are right close they do a pretty good job of copying the light output.

plant looks great.. the spider mites probably came from the home depot soil.
also... where did you get the bucket?

Here's the new setup:

I got 2 lights in each socket with the reflectors that came with the clamps. The lights now surround the full side of the plant as I bend the plant a little for maximum lumen aborbancy:

Here's the bending process:

The top view, with lights on one side, and a cardboard board with mylar taped onto it for reflection onto the other side of the plant:

Got a few more questions:

Should I be LSTing my plant? Is it too late to LST? I am bending now, but is it wise?

Haven't gotten any nutes yet. Should that be a priority? It's organic soil.

Is it safe to switch to 18/6?

i wouldnt lst it now, i only lst in the beginning weeks, im NO expert but with my experience i use lst to strengthen the plant. When i tie in weeks 1-3, or 2-4 and then release, its makes the plant way stronger in my opinion. but you have to be careful because i heard you can hermy it out... my plant is at 1 month thursday lstd at weeks 1(for a week) and week 3(for a week, then i untied and let go...

yeah i lst'ed mine during the week i switched to 12/12 and then the stem grew horizontally with petioles coming straight up from the stem. if you do it too late, the stem is already to think and instead of growin horizontally, it will go more at a 45 degree angle and its not really going to benefit you much..

those reflectors look much better
