Transferring plants

I have a couple of plants that I just got 2 wks ago. I put them in small pots just so it can be easier to move them around. I was wondering since I put them in their, I would want to take them out and transfer them to bigger pots. Would any thing happin to the roots where it will mess up the process or the plant?

Just be careful and the plant might get shocked for a day or two iv heard... But just give her some water and treat her nice..

He grows indoors but it is a very good tutorial and he shows you how to transplant them..

It should be fine. Just make sure you don't rip the roots. You don't actually have to transplant until you see roots growing out of the bottom.

I had them in there because it was raining pretty hard for a few days and I had just got them and needed to place them in there. It's sunny now so I want to put them in bigger pots out side. I'm not growing indoor, but I'm gonna to youtube him and see. Thanks

When I'm going to move them in to bigger pots, should the soil bet wet so I can move them easier and so the roots won't go into shock. That's the part I'm worrying about. They have been in there for 2 wks and they are already making progress.

What size pot have they been in for 2 weeks? If its a cup then you can move them. They shouldn't be soaked or the soil wont stay together for the move, but they shouldn't be dry either or the soil will also crumble. After you transplant them give them a generous amount of water so it will set the dirt together and allow the roots to branch out easier.

If you haven't started flowering them yet it won't hurt just be careful, and if you can't pull them out easily let it dry out more, the dry the easier it is, and the more root bound the plant in the pot the easier it will be to transplant. and it may look like drooping, or stressed/funny for a couple days but that's normal sometimes it just has to take the new dirt, just don't go to big of a pot unless you plan on vegging for alot longer, but if you plan on flowering anytime soon don't even bother unless the plant is root bound already, I would let them get more dry then damp because it just makes it alot harder and the rootball to stay intact

(all the above applies to photo (reg) plants only, never transplant autoflower plants, put them straight into the big ass pot from the start)

Transplanting is easiest when the medium is fairly dry, but other than that, ur right on track... still the easy part of growing :)

Im currently growing 3 autos, why is it a bad idea to transplant autos?

its a matter of how autos grow. The plant stays pretty small, and grows roots, when the roots run out of room (or get jostled/shocked) they go to flower mode...

If you put auto's in a big ass pot, it will veg longer than if you put it in a 1gal pot under the same lights.

Short answer: Transplanting auto's tends to tell the roots/plant its flower time.

I be as careful as I can and use some of that mycorrhizal stuff, water heavy w light nutes n mine do t seem to miss a beat....

Last transplant forgot the mycorrhizal stuff and tho plants are healthy I was scratching my head wondering why they weren't as vigorous as the generation before- forgetting those was only variable I could think of....
