Transplanting during flower?

So I have a ebb and flow with hydroton, my clones are 6inch rockwool cubes inside a pot with hydroton. I know it will be counter productive but due to watering problems how bad would it be to cut the pot open and place the rockwool directly on hydroton? I am in end of week 1 flower. . My watering issue are some plants are getting over watered in the pot for some reason well others are fine, I also have rockwool blocks on hydroton that are doing fine as well. Thanks

why do you need to transplant it? why dont you just resolve your watering schedule and thats that or am I missing something?

I mean worst case you could probably just lift the plants individually and gently put some hydroton in underneath them no?

Welcome to riu, this might get better answers in the hydro section

I have been flowering almost exclusively in 6 inch rockwool cubes for the last year, no hydroton or anything else just rockwool cubes on a flood tray. How big are these plants that they have outgrown what I use til finish plus the hydroton you've got in your pots? I think you will be fine unless everything in the pot is engulfed in roots but even then I wouldn't risk what you're talking about, roots slow down their growth as they get a couple weeks into flower so they most likely will not regenerate very well.

Are you using a wetting agent like sm-90 to help with the draining?
I was getting "poor drainers" about 10% of the time and would just toss them in the trash after the initial soak.
I would think the problem is with the block and not the hydroton.

Dyno I think I will try your idea of lifting individual, orangea it's not out grown by any means I think between different strains/blocks and rockwool settling in pots they are at different Hights on the flood level and I am having a hard time seeing where the bottom of the cubes are sitting. I will defiantly just be using the cube on top of layer of hydroton next time..

What's your flooding scheduale? How high and how often ?

I personally use floraflex caps on my rockwool and have 1/4 irrigation tubing running to each plant so it's a top feed situation. I have never ran ebb n flow with rockwool because the big 6" cubes just don't have the capillary ability to draw water all the way to the top (from my experience anyhow). I only hit them once a day with a timer until some runoff is achieved and manually run water until there's lots of runoff once or twice a week.
