transplanting from 4INCH pots

hey all im currently on week 4 of my grow(day 2 for my 4inch pots. When do they need transplanting? Does anyone have any good tips on transplanting? My one question i do have on transplanting is am i suppose to water my 4IN POTS before transplanting or leave the soil dry? I know the bigger one is supposed to be watered but im more concered on whether on not i water the 4in pot before transplanting. Any and all input = REPS.

How big are they? I would imagine that they are several inches tall and that it is time to transplant, probably wouldn't hurt anyways. You could put them in say 1 gallon containers to veg for a few more weeks or maybe something larger if plan to flower them sooner; really depends what your plan is.

I always water after I transplant, always seemed a little easier when the soil has dried out some (it should never be completely dry) and they'll have to be watered once they are in the new containers anyways. I grow organically, so I add in plenty of dry fertilizer (Espoma Bio-Tone Starter+) and guano if the plants are old enough. Then I drench with a capful of Maxicrop Liquid Seaweed + 1 tbsp blackstrap molasses + 1-2 tbsp Organicare Humega per gallon of water.

pretty simple when you go to transplant fill other container and make a square hole about same size as your 4 " pots its always better to dry out your 4 " pots prior to transplanting this way soil will stay together with roots water the hole you made transplant them placing them firmly into other container make sure you make deep enough hole push them down into hole rather firmly cover up hole and water the top and your done )

personally, i like to cut it down to the least amount of transplants as possible...i like to get my plant from the container it starts in, to the container it gets chopped down in, in one transplant....thats just how i do it though.

Plants will outgrow 4" pots in no time, but it's a great size for that in between stage, or for starting clones. I love my 4" square pots, handed down to me from a fellow grower.

If you need to water more than once every 48 hours, you should repot immediately.

I don't know if this does anything beneficial, but I when I do transplant which isn't often, I like to do it at night and then give them a good watering so when the sun comes up they are somewhat more at peace in their new homes. I guess same would go for indoors. Repot when the lights are off. Also, what are you growing? I know some strains, especially auto's don't seem to like transplanting. That is why I get my plants into their final homes as soon as possible if not from the very beginning.
