Transplanting HELP!

I am currently in 1 gal pots.(6 in.) My 4 plants are 50 days from sprouting, 25 into flower. I need to transplant, but I am tight on space and not sure what to do. Anyone have some suggestions? Here are some pics I just took or my grow box. I thought about taking out the fan, but don't want to if I don't have to. I just picked up some 8" pots, but left them in my buddies car on accident so didn't get to see if they would fit. Will get them by tomorrow to check out how they fit.

i wouldnt even transplant that late your already flowering and it may stress too much unless you alot of experience doing this. also the plant isnt going to concentrate on growing roots or growing bigger so its not gonna do much anyways

Is that foil? That is bad news.

Aluminum Foil:
Aluminum foil is no more than 55% reflective - if used, make sure that the dull side is the one that is used to reflect the light. When it becomes creased its reflectivity is even lower (around 35%.) It is also very dangerous to use because it creates hotspots easily, is electrically conductive, and is a fire hazard when it is in close contact with HID lighting. Attaching this to walls is a pain and usually using aluminum tape or glue is the best way. This should only be used as a last resort, and even then its usefulness is questionable.

Better of just painting it white.

Flat white paint:

Self explanatory; a great option for large grow rooms or for people who are interested in a low maintenance wall. Flat white paint has the ability to reflect between 75-85% of the light, and does not create hotspots. Adding a fungicide is recommended when painting.

Glossy and eggshell whites not reflect light as efficiently as flat white. Semi-gloss paint for example, only has the ability to reflect between 55-60% of the light. Also important to remember when using paint is that any smears or blemishes on the surface take away from how reflective the wall is so care should be taken to avoid marking or staining the walls. Titanium white paint is very reflective; however it is usually only used on reflectors due to its high cost.

A cheap alternative:

I've discovered the cheapest Mylar around-- only 2 bucks$! You save 18 bucks$ a roll! It?s a Christmas present wrapping Mylar called Polywrap

- Waterproof
- 50 square ft. a roll
- 1 mil (@ .001 inch) thick X 3 1/2 ft. wide X 20ft long.

Note: Only buy the very Bright and shiny Mylar-type wrapping!

Now the space problem. Hmmmmm.

Square pots instead of round. Try hanging the light that would free up floor space.

mogie beatin once more on his favorit anime, the god forsaken tin foil:D but he is right about that too, the stuff just sucks in a grow and messes up your plants with its hot spots burning into your babies;) so listen up to mogie!

and to repoting them, hack you should have done that before flowering already to get bigger root systems:(
but it is not too late, just do it right now and get your plants into 3 to 5 gallon buckets, not bigger or it will get hard to move them!:D

hey, and since you got trouble with space on your mind, look into buying square buckets instead of round ones, won't cost you much more, they are a little harder to get buy but for sure use up less space then those round;)

I am assuming you mean the fan?

I did not do it before flowering because I wanted to flower to determine sex, then remove the males. Once I removed the males I was planning on transplanting since I would have more room. I had 5 plants. 4/5 females.

I asked for help, not criticism. Yes I know tin foil is bad, but I had nothing else, and had to use something to stop the ligh leak through the box.

Building another box is NOT an option.

I got those pots, and all 4 will fit, just without that tower fan that I have in there. I am going to look for a round mountable fan to mount up on the side/top.

And yes I am using CFL's so be it. It is my first grow and I am satisfied so far. I have seen some great CFL grows. No way a HID lighting would work in my grow box, so I used what would be best for MY situation.

My inclination would be to bend them over and leave them in the one gallon containers for duration of flowering.....bending correctly will enhance your yield.....
Mogie offers sage advise regarding foil!

As you can see they have been bent over in the pics.

You say I should not transplant? If I am going to do it, I wanted to do it later today or tomorrow. I just don't want them to become root bound. They have been yellowing towards the bottom pretty bad. I have feeding FF Tiger Bloom. 2-8-4 Last watering was 3 tsp/gallon.

What are signs that a plant is rootbound? I can't see too many roots down at the drainage holes.

If it is better off for my to leave in the 1 gallon pots I will do so. But if it will be beneficial to transplant I will do that as well.

Yes, mogie has great advice on tin foil and many other things. I have read that numerous times.

Whats up to my best friend!!! yeah partner, Id say just tie those bitches down, If they are tied down in the pics, it aint much.... pull'em down boy!!

anyways, the yellowing isnt cause by root bound, its the effects of low nitrogen, as I have recently found out about mine... its normal.

2/3 of ea. of mine are YELLOW!! like yellow yellow ya know?! and they also say that your roots are only as wide as your tree.... so I think that you are cool.

Hey man, I do love u broseph

you can also use white foam core board to put around plant instead of paint and mylar. we use it in photography lighting to bounce light to bring detail in shadows out, it bounces good amount of light and its soft even lighting. get it from any arts crafts store and like 2 or 3 bucks for 6 ft x 6ft sheet good for temp growing like apartment where you cant paint walls and stuff also works good blocking any heavy drafts if you dont have an ideal grow location like a studio apartment, you can make little walls out it and stand it next areas of plant not facing against a wall so other side gets the benefits not just the wall side like if u used flat white paint since its stiff like cardboard .
