transplanting in rockwool question

Okay, so I am transplanting my plants from their 2 inch rockwool cubes to my hydro, so all i'm doing is basically putting them around those water-rocks inside a plastic cup.

My plants are just over 2 weeks old. I have been reading that you are not supposed to water the rockwool too often, but now all of a sudden it's getting watered by a pump several times a day for quite a bit of time.

I was wondering how this works, and how this doesn't shock the plant, or if i'm missing something here.

In my opinion you need to transplant the 2 inch cubes to 4 or 6 inch blocks. Mine are six. I would think that if you leave them in the 2 inch, you are basically trying to do a deep water cultivation. My six inch blocks are watered every 15 minutes for 12 hour per day.

I hate rockwool but if you have to use it make sure that you condition it first or your PH will be a mess. Also, as your plant grows and you are shading the rockwool, make sure you are checking it for green algae.... So many better mediums besides rockwool.. General Hydroponics makes plugs called "Rapid Rooter". Once you use them once, you will never go back to to rockwool...

So you don't think putting the rockwool around a bunch of hydro-rocks in a cup would work??
