transplanting plant question

Hey,
So I have been growing my blue dream plant for some time , misjudged how long the plant wouldtake to switch to flowering. This is my first two plants that were not autos so,a little learning curve. The plant really has hit puberty and my 'plant' is now a tree and the pot i am growing in is a 3gallon fabric pot& the entire pot feels&looks likeits all roots. The plant is just entering the flowering stage. Should i leave it as is&continue on or should i switch it into a 7gallon bag. Will it make a difference?

I would do it quickly as possible if ur just starting flower... transplanting during flower can stunt and stress the plant...it's hit puberty and it's about to hit a growth spurt

I grow all my plants in a final 3 gallon fabric pot, in a 7 foot tall tent, they typically get nearly 4 feet tall after the stretch and fill out after topping twice. I prefer the small pots because they weigh less and I am disabled, try not to lift more than 10 pounds so I avoid large pots. The small pot means you will water more often, I sometimes water every 24 hours, for a really strong plant, but usually every 36-48 hours during flower. With a 7 gallon pot you will water every 2-3-4 days depending on plant and conditions.

Just get the new container ready and cut the bottom out of the 3 gallon and set it on top. Good luck getting it out at this point. If you have the headspace that is. At the stage you're at it's not going to fill a big container. This way your feeding goes right on down.

Repot. You have a long way to go and you'll need the space to water it so you don't have to everyday. It takes a long time to get run off when it's solid root because you have to water so slowly and it doesn't hold water for long.
It's not concentrating on root growing at this point and should taper off but more room will make it easier. I experienced the same thing.

What nutrients/how are you feeding? The extra soil will help a lot if you are relying on it for nutrients, or if you are top dressing dry nutrients. If you are feeding mineral salts it will matter less. Harley is right, the roots tend to stop growing quickly after the stretch period. Setting the pot on top of more soil, with the bottom cut out is a great idea (if you have enough vertical space) because removing the plant from a fabric pot will mean you have to shred a lot of the roots that have grown into it by this point. It will stress the plant a bit and slow it down until it recovers, but taking off just the bottom won't stress it nearly as much. Good luck!

Sounds like you're going to have to cut it out of its bag. I'd still transplant into a bigger pot but I'd prep and wet the soil before transplant and drop it right in gently, though if it's truly in flower I'm not sure how much more aggressive root development you'll really see.

Thank you for all of the responses. The tree is a monster. I topped it a bit too much, its already at like 6 foot, over 6 foot if u count the pot .I had someone watching my plants when i was away and the bottom part of the plant didnt get light so the plant doesnt start til about a foot up,which makes the whole thing look like a tree, kinda cool. This was my first time topping the plants, i would always just let it grow normally bc i used auto seeds&the information i had said u couldnt top autos but i later found out u could.
I took all the info u all gave&decided its too much risk at this point to totally transplant it. The flowering stage is just beginning,I can see the stretch is already happening. Since it wont aggressively be making roots,i will leave it be &only cut the bottom out.Plant is in bedroom&am running out of space. If the plant grows much more i will have to take the light from shooting down, i will have to direct the light sideways.I have an extra light to use if thats the case for the other side of the plant.
&The plant didnt switch to flowering right away,it took a couple weeks for the plant to switch over to answer that question.
