I had plants in 5 inch net pots and wanted to transplant into 8inch pots that fit over a 5 gal. bucket but, when i pulled the 5inchers out of my bubbleponics machine the roots were hanging down over a foot and had weaved in and out of the net pots so much that i can't pull the rock wool and plant out of the net pot without tiring the roots. Can someone advice me as to what the best way to do this is?

That's what I do all the time but with 3" and 6" pots. I just stick two 3" net pots into a 6" net bucket lid and fill around with hydroton. I always grow two plants to a 5 gallon bucket.
