transplanting

Does anyone know if when you have your plants in 4 inch pots can you keep them in those pots for as long as you want or do you have to transplant at a certain time? I just have space problems in my veg area and wanted to keep a few of my girls in the 4inch pots for as long as i can. Can you do this? any and all input would be great.

I think the rule is a gallon per foot it grows. Not sure. My experience was I had to transplant because she got rootbound. Good luck.

Four inch pots are just for starting plants. By week two or three, they'll need bigger homes.
