Transplanting ?

I have four plants in 1.5 gallon containers about 2.5 feet high, I have never transplanted at this height before. Can it be done? the plants are definately rooted in the pot? I would like to be able to put them in 5 gallon or 7 gallon containers. What does everyone think? would this be a disaster>?

Sure, no problem, go for it.

That's only if very rootbound, if not make sure the soil is drenched prior to repotting, you need the soil/rootball as intact as possible(wet) to avoid shock. Like a sandcastle if its too dry it will crumble when you up end it damaging small lateral roots.

It's my first grow but I start them in a smaller cubby so I went from lil round 6 inch pots to large square 15 inch deck planters (5 gallon) at about 6 inches. I feel pretty good about this transition.

Something that hasn't been mentioned yet.. when you do transplant, same or -very- similar composition medium-wise will be required. Don't try to pull off magic in that respect or it -could- be very fatal for your plants.

By doing this will it ultimately increase mt yield? will i have to wait two weeks before i put it under 12/12

What does everyone think?

I think it would be fine just be sure to break up the roots like this.

I don't see any problems with it. You should definitely increase your yield. I'd probably veg another week if you have room to handle it so it will put more energy into growing roots before it switches to bud. It takes a week or 2 to switch to flower mode so your get some more veg/root growth during the transition as well

Might consider going to a 3-4 gal pot, might not utilize all the volume in a 7 gal.

If they are good healthy plants I'd definitely do it.
