No problem, everyone is welcome to chime in. What light setting should they run at? right now they are 24/0. Also when do you add nutes?
I likento wait til now, about 10-14 days in depending onthe growth and since u already have a couple sets on the mystery strain it should be stable enoug. To throw some ligh fert on it. If you don't have an ec or ppm meter you would do well to pick one up there between 20-35$ on eBay for the pen type. Also since you are going to and deff should use nutes you will want a way to regulate ph, I had used a fish tank type ph kit w the drops and never had any probs but of course this issnt as precise as the digital. The more nutes unad the more the ph fluctuates usually down. Baking soda will bring the ph up and white viniger will bring it down. A tiny spoon for the baking soda and an eyedropper bottle for viniger. It dosent take much to move the ph.
If you get a ppm meter or ec meter start low like 200 ppm or .2-.3 ec
if no meter then go with half dose recomendation for first couple feedings and see if you get burn. You will want to use straight phed water in between waterings and ph the nute water after adding nutes.

I apologize if I said things you already knew but always better to be reasured

Thanks, I didn't know most of that. So I think I will switch to 18/6? once the AK has at least a week and looks stronger. I just placed a bid on a ph meter for plants, it also comes with a water and light meter. I'll start adding a low dose of nutes on tuesday when I water and see how that works out. Thanks for the advice. Does anyone know of a good thread on trimming? I don't know much about it.

This is my second attempt at growing and it is going quite well. Once I get a second seed to germ I will have to plants growing. Everything in my setup except the seeds are from Walmart and was easy to make. I took a trashcan and wrapped it in black ducttape to block the light, and added a bottom fan to add cool air, and a top air purifier with charcoal filter to filter and remove hot air. there are currently 4 26 watt cfls, with a low light spectrum rating. They are daylight bulbs. The soil is MG moisture control.

The first plant is an unknown strain, but seems to be thriving in this environment.
Heres some pics of day 3 and the setup.
All I can say, is everything is looking alright in your grow. However... is that the only soil you can get? Miracle Grow? That medium is not really all the good for growing MJ. I stay away from it personally.
Good luck anyhow. :D

haha, ya thats what I've heard. The MG organic didn't do well in my last try, so I got MG moisture control and it seems to be doing ok. Problem is, there aren't many if any grow shops around here, so my choices are pretty much whatever they carry at walmart or home depot. Thanks

well if thats the case then you can do hempy pots or dwc you can fid everything at wally world or hd or lowes. hempy is the closest to soil...basically u just fill the bucket with pearlite and go from there...theres more to it than that but as far as mediums it would be a big step up.

trimming...try fimming...under advanced techniques the m blaze guide to fimming will tell you everything you need to know and will greatly increase your yield for shure

stop please dont buy the meter im thinking of...well at least not for ph...it works great for light and moisture readings but aint for shit when it comes to ph. i have one i got it at lowes actually...3 parts light moisture and ph...

i strongly implore you to get a cheep fish tank ph kit from wal mart to do your ph tests if you want to go in expensive less than 5$ and they read from 6.0 to 8.0 usually which is all u need for soil or other things for that matter as long as you arent going below 5.5...you can sneak up on 6.0 and go past a determined amount to keep consistent

Thanks for the advice. actually my problem right now is that the edges of about 50% of the leaves have a tiny to slight curl to them, at first i figured a lack of watering over my trip did it, but the progressed over the last 2 days a little, so I threw my thermo/humidity tester in there. I was only at 23% humidity! Would that cause the leaves to lightly cup? I spritzed lots of water in there where it will evaporate, and added an evaporation cup to see if it will help. More pics tomorrow around noon, we shall see if that was the problem. Might try a different grow medium like you said for the new seeds I ordered from the attitude, but I think I'm gunna stick with what I have for this one. Well I'm off to look at the advanced forum like you said. peace!

the humidity can cause the curling, i usually experience it when the lights are too close to the plant and the temps are a bit high but as it goes those two things are similar in feel to the plant, and will cause the curling...its a defense response i believe. be carefull not to over water as well, that can cause alot of probs and stunt plant growth. i assume you have holes in the bottom of the pot...more is better as long as your medium isnt falling out everytime you water and you keep the roots inside the pot, when you get your light/moisture/ph meter i would cut your waterings down to where you dont water until the needle gets close to the red side of the scale...after you water it should be in the blue or high green then wait till it gets dry and water then. since your new to this id suggest like you said not transplanting the plants to something else(medium wise) but experimenting with new grow types can be fun and exciting.

thanks, that all makes sense. we will see what happens. I started a humidifier in my room 30 min ago, also the plants will have their first sleep period today for 3 hours, starting in 20 min. That might have a large impact. Fingers crossed for better looking plants on thurs.

So i put the humidifier behind my air intake, and the temp is now stable at 82 degrees at top of plant, and humidity is now 48%. Think it will improve?

So my problem seems to be resolving, humidity is now between 42-70% humidity at all times, 70 durring lights off, usually 60 with them on. The leaves started uncurling. Also the plants are farther away from the lights and have a night period now

Glad to see you got the problem under control.

Thanks, its looking better, and still having rapid growth, lots of bushy growth. also, the very original 2 leaves have some yellow spots around the edges. Heres pics of day 15 mystery weed and day 6 AK. Also, the mystery weed fan leaves have 7 big normal leaves, but an 8th lil leaf on them. Slight mutation?
